Billy Boat is on

Did this today..took about 4 hours...This was not easy I say an 8 out of 10, 10 being hard...I had to cut about an 1 1/2 off the passenger side pipe before the muffler, bend some of the tin it was hitting (it is tight in places), and re-plum vacuam lines, the flapper on the billy boat are on the inside, factory are on the outside. Love the sound, love the looks, but damn next time I pay some one to install.

Louder on start up, but in the car driving, it seems much tamer than the stock, not loud at all, we did not notice a big difference at all on our 8 mile test drive. I will be able to get more clips up in the morning..just tried right now and Enjoying some Honey Jack Daniels

Very curious if it will have drone with headers. The stock NPP has a very slight drone with longtubes and also gets a little raspy at high rpm's.

I don't know if there is a difference on the 12 to 13 on the exhaust? Like I said the passenger side would not fit on the stock hanger at first, driver side fit fine. I had to lop off X2 different times on the pass side during fitment, all most 2 inches. Also the lines for the stock are hard lines and do not bend, I had some spare windshied washer hose with a t tap, used this to plum from the controller/reservior (not the one from front to back) to the actuators, ran it along the back of bumber and Zip stripped into place. The actuators are on the inside pipes, were as the stocks are on the outside? Tin along the tunnel cover Driver side had to be bent and cooling line on pass side had to bent upwards a little for clearance (did not want so close to pipe). So not sure if there is a difference, my invoice said 2012 ZL1 Bi Modal exhaust?

OK guys, update.

She is going into the shop in the morning. There are some clearance issue on the rubber dounut on the back part of drive shaft and rubbing on the rear pumpkin housing. I fitted this and re-fitted this to no avail, tried of messing with it. Anyone who is getting this take it to the shop.

Ok, so I got to ask, if no headers (assume they're coming?), then what would be the point of this exhaust if it's "quieter" than stock? Or does it flow better? I know the claim is 7 or 8 hp, but is it worth the hefty price tag?

Just askin', don't shoot me.

No problem, glad to answer, I thought this would be a simple bolt on and sound better...heck on the web site it sounded great, in cab it is quiter, no doubt about it. outside sounds about the same, little raspyer. The flow is much better than stock, 3 inch all the way back. But there are clearance issues that I am having the shop take care of, I am happy with it, but disapointed that it was not what I thought. Oh well....I will get it fixed and be tearing up the road...lol

I called Billy Boat because I had some questions as I was considering getting it but had the same concerns as you of why pay that kind of money if it isn't going to make it a noticeable difference louder. I was told that there are 2 sides of the muffler; one that is close to stock loudness but sounds more "muscley" and the other that is straight through but with dampening to create a good tone without drone which is much much louder than stock. He suggested getting the mild to wild switch installed at the same time so that you can control when open if you want. I asked if they had any data on the deicbel comparison between theirs and stock(since they have that data on their website for some of their other systsems); but he said they haven't done that yet.
