Question Is this lighting illegal or legal?

I am looking at that light that projects from your engine bay that you can see through the grille. I am a pretty big fan of this mod and it is pretty cheap...
This is the link: http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...le-led-kit.htm

I want blue. Is that illegal in most places when driving at night since it is a cop color? or not?

If you can find a cheaper price let me know!

thanks guys!

Check with your local state laws every state is different. Some cities have ordinances against certain car modifications as well.

Per Federal FMVSS 108 blue is not permitted while in transit.

Yessir.

So two (3 really) choices.

1.) Don't buy any of em... :(

2.) Get em and don't run with any color aside from White when the vehicle is in motion.

3.) Get a set of dual color or Colorshift versions so that you can rock your "non-illegal" color when you drive! Oracle DC Halos on sale

Good luck and let us know if we can be of service for you!

Check your state laws.

Some laws state specifically that you can only have white or amber in the front of the vehicle. As long as your states law does not say that you can only have white or amber then you SHOULD be ok.

Not sure what the laws are here in NJ - but I know I had a civic with blue and red led's - constant not strobing - behind me for a while this morning

I know in and around Houston Tx you will get pulled over and ticketed for any colors other than white or amber. Even if you are white they'll ticket you for habit more than 6 lights in the front

I decided not to get them because I am scared of getting any more tickets. I might get a blue or green engine bay light with a switch.

Thread resurrection day!

I drive with my grill lights on...they're not too bright and I don't drive with red or blue.
