That's an understatement. the LS4 is the sideways front wheel drive V8 in the SS Impala. 5.3 303 HP

Didn't realize so many people on this forum are just now hearing about what an LS7 IS!!!!!

It's a no no. But heads, cam, headers, intake can get you 550 - 600 RWHP (Mainly depending on the cam). Just need to watch out for the valve guide issues. I'm putting aftermarket heads w/ solid SS exhaust valves on mine this winter.

A 1LE + LS7 would be one bad ass Camaro.

Yeah. My feeling is the ls7 crate is overpriced. Look at the 5.0 coyote engine. It is Dohc and has more parts, but is far cheaper.

I doubt they would prove it above the ZL1 but it could be in line with the marketing "take your pick"

I would think 525-530. Think about the LT1 vs LS3 it is said to be 450 hp, about 20 more then the LS3.

I am conflicted, as a Z06 owner I love the LS7 and my Z, but part fo the reason I love it is the LS7 was always only offered in the Z06. Now they offer it in the 427 convertible and that has diluted the breed a bit. Now with it appearing in the camaro not quite as special.

Although, by the time this car appears, I will be looking to pick up a new DD and this would compliment the Z perfectly.

I will say a lighter, track ready ZL1 would be cool.
