back from the dead...
does anyone have a measurement from mirror to mirror edges?
I think I've seen 80-82inches, can anyone confirm?
would need to roll windows down and put the tape thru both to measure this...

Doors

I opened my doors all the way. They extended 44 inches from the side of the car. With that in mind, I built my garage 30 feet wide for 2 cars.

With the Camaro being kinda wide, I don't understand why the side mirrors don't fold in!! Most cars have fold-in mirrors now right?

I seem to have a much easier time backing into my garage or into parking spaces instead of pulling in forward because you can't see anything over that front right fender.

the house I live in was built in 1962 and the garage edition was put on in 1980, I think it was built with the VW bug in mind because it is unbelieveably tight, so much so that I don't dare try to squeeze her in there. didn't even dawn on me when I went to buy her. Guess I was in Camaro tunnel vision, or is that Permagrin tunnel vision...LOL

I have a tight one car garage attached to my house, I hung some tennis balls from the ceiling with kite string so I line up perfect every time and stop perfect every time.

I have a tight 1 car garage as well. Problem is, I have shelving that is not removable on the driver side (pulling straight in). I can't back in because I have the Razzi ground effect kit, so I cant clear the front clip. So I opt to park in the driveway. Either way I only have 2" to spare due to the mirror width. Sad thing... My Escalade fit when I still had it.

My only garage fitment issue is that I can't get 3 Camaros in it.

My ZL1 will have to wait.

What gets me is have you ever seen older cars from 40 years ago? They were huge! How the hell did those fit!

No. They are whatever size the builder built them. 10x20 may be an architectural standard minimum of old, but 12x22 is the minimum recommended standard these day.

When we were looking to buy our current home we looked for a garage with a house attached. If I had my way we would have built a 4000 square foot garage with a home above it or a double wide out back.

I have a 2 car garage and I use the right stall as the left stall has lawnmower and toys I only have 2 issues, one is that I have the grill, snow-blower and a few other items along the passenger side I have to pull in at a slight angle to the center of the garage if I want to open the passenger door all the way. The other issue is I have the standard single car garage doors and although there is at least 6" on each side of the mirrors backing out it sure as the hell only seems like 2".

Dean.

I believe the minimum dimensions for 1-car garages in the United States is 10'x20'. This is plenty of space for a Camaro. I know because I keep my Camaro in a 10x20 garage. There is enough room to open both doors to the first detent and I still have about 4 feet of room in the front/rear (depending on how far I park the car in the garage).
