I've driven the LSA in the CTS and loved it, but the power is not as violent or as instant as the LS7, now the Z06 is lighter and the CTS was an automatic

That can't be right can it?

Could the LS7 equipped Camaro be anything other than a Z28?
Not naming an LS7 Camaro a Z28 would be a larger mistake than if they had named the ZL1 the Z28. Fen stated in an earlier post that other vin cards have been updated multiple times. GM is spoon feeding us with just enough info to keep faith alive.

They've been available for a while. Most people don't know they exist, hell I just stumbled across them the other day while checking Terrain VINs.

Maybe it'll be one of those secret packages you get when you order the car juuuuust right...

in other words, oh, you ordered a 1LE, and an LS7?

Surprise!!!!!

Your car showed up with z/28 Badges!

I'm a little late to the game here so this may have already been said, but if you look at Fords Ecoboost V6, its really only making 365HP and 350TQ, but with a tune those numbers jump by 100 to 150.

We know enough about FI in the LFX to know it is capable of those numbers without a doubt. But I do agree, that with the NA V6 already making 323, 380 doesn't sound like much for a TTV6....just have to remember there is A LOT more untapped potential there (and a very strong flat TQ curve!)

Even better!

423-473 HP with 28 MPG? Oh yeah baby! Where do I get my hands on the TT upgrade?

Just thought of this.....will it have electric power steering to match all the 2013+ V8 Camaros? Also realizing that this is a 7+ year old motor that are probably leftovers that GM is just throwing into our 5th Gens and WE LOVE IT!

I really don't think that this info at this stage in the game would list the Z/28 as a trim level..look a 11 pages of excitement in less than 24 hrs!! there is far more speculation introduced from the info we do have which causes induced excitement than just throwing it out there. We still have months of spyshots and the summer to get through then I speculate the cat will be let out of the bag. Sounds like a marketing wildfire to me and they don't even have to spend 1 cent in advertising!!

I just received a note from our friends on the Camaro team.

They'd like everyone to know that this VIN card is not accurate, or complete. It's an early draft that was never meant to be used for anything but development of the 2014 VIN sequence. To quote a portion of the message:

"It is not the final document, as it does not include a complete or accurate list of models or content. As you can imagine, the VIN card requires a tremendous amount of collaboration to verify the production information for each model across all four GM brands sold worldwide.

Rest assured, when we finalize the 2014 VIN card, it will be complete and factually accurate."

So that adds one more piece of information to chew on and what this all means, if anything....

Won't be the first time , something slipped through GM official channels and they would be FUBAR to deny it now..

Parts labeled "Z28"

LS7 slip + Camaro coming back to USA = Z28 around the corner, watch

I get 24 MPG avg and 30 on interstate with my 550 RWHP LS7 (about 2 - 3 MPG when I floor it, lol). Same with my 400 some HP 4th gen Camaro. Just needs a taller 6th gear. (And some weight reduction )

Damage control!

I was always one to say the LS7 will never make it into a Camaro as it's on the way out and also too expensive (hand-built).

notice the highlight area???? The Book code for the camaro is 8E, and the Camaro VIN card shows the LS7 as does it correlate with the passenger car engine table!!

I hope this is the most likely possibility. There is a reason the LS7 is listed on this Camaro vin card. Seeing the LS7 listed on the Sonic vin card would be a mistake. Good news is they haven't totally debunked the card. The only negative that could be drawn out of that statement in my mind is that maybe the LS7 Camaro won't be ready until the 2015 model year.
