I hear valvetrain noise all the time in my LS3. Is it excessively noisy...I don't think so....but if someone told me the LS3s have a problem with valvetrain....I might get a little paranoid and think my valvetrain noise is louder than usual.

see what I'm sayin?
Quite frankly I don't see your point, there have been enough people with problem motors to know the problem is real. And GM has provided no diagnostic method.

You would think that GM would want to support loyal customers and one of the flagship vehicles.

Define enough? Do you have a number count? Chevy very much supports loyal customers. Have YOU had a problem with YOUR LS7 and Chevy DIDN'T take care of you?
NO?
well then SSSHHH!
I wanna get back to enjoying my LS7 Camaro hopeful thread and I WILL be buying one if it comes out!

LIVE at SEMA 2008: Four Chevrolet Camaro Concepts and Accessories Revealed

GM officially present 4 Camaro concepts at the SEMA show 2008. We knew we’d see some variations of the Chevrolet Camaro on present, but the facts had us aching to see the in self. While each has their own rare pull, the LS7 Concept stood outmost.
Attachment 454726

Designed to be something of a bewilder-back to the glory being of the muscle car era when somebody in the know could toddle into their district Chevy dealer and limit the COPO box to order up a chase-bred, fire-breathing 427 V8 in the engine bay, this LS7 Concept shows what 2010 Camaro shoppers might be able to do with a great letter-prose struggle. The LS7, as its name implies, skin the GM Performance Parts LS7. Crate motor tuned to fabricate 550 horsepower gratitude to several GMPP performance accessories.
I remember that day. This has been my home computers wallpaper for as long as I can remember.

Not to be a party pooper but I think we have a 2nd gear grind, there are a few threads and as far as I know, there are no recalls from GM.

I love GM, but just saying, and yes, I want a LS7!!!!!!

Anyone?

I know there will be some difference, I'm just wondering with the increase in torque and all how it would feel. It should be lighter than a ZL1, actually it should be about the same weight as the SS so I'm wondering how close it would come to a ZL1?

We don't know what they will do but I seriously doubt a Z28 would weigh the same or less than an SS. Bigger rear end would add weight. I don't want them to worry about weight too much because that would drive up cost.

I jI can't convince myself that a Z/28 is worth it if. Super-charged SS will match it and it's apparently difficult to mod the LS7.

LS7 is more difficult to mod, and because if the siamese cylinders they are not that good under boost.

If I were to get one, it would just be cam/headers/intake which would give you one heck of a street car.

It seems common for the LS7 with cam/head/CAI/exhaust/tune to make in the 600BHP range. LPE has a 660BHP LS7 package, Katech offers a 630BHP LS7 package so this seems to be something that the tuners have gotten down.

That can't be right can it?

Could the LS7 equipped Camaro be anything other than a Z28?
Samething I was thinking...

Sounds like you need to change your username. $5k mark up? Order one, or you can find some for below invoice.

A 1LE + LS7 would be one bad ass Camaro.
1LE + LS3 is bad ass too, no?

They'd like everyone to know that this VIN card is not accurate, or complete. It's an early draft that was never meant to be used for anything but development of the 2014 VIN sequence. To quote a portion of the message:

"It is not the final document, as it does not include a complete or accurate list of models or content. As you can imagine, the VIN card requires a tremendous amount of collaboration to verify the production information for each model across all four GM brands sold worldwide.

Rest assured, when we finalize the 2014 VIN card, it will be complete and factually accurate."

So that adds one more piece of information to chew on and what this all means, if anything....
It means that, that VIN card is accurate for the Camaro.

notice the highlight area???? The Book code for the camaro is 8E, and the Camaro VIN card shows the LS7 as does it correlate with the passenger car engine table!!
I don't see the LS3 in that....

I wonder if the LS3 will be replaced by the LT1, in fact they could replace both the LS3 and L99 with the LT1 engine. More horsepower and more torque along with better fuel economy would be a good combination.

Doing that would not be enough to make me switch, only an LS7 would do

I've considered this before, I would estimate 0-60 4.2, 1/4 12.2.

Have they figured out how to make AFM/DOD work with a manual transmission?

There has been some debate about this on some Corvette forums as the LT1 has AFM and also a manual transmission. Will there not be AFM on manual equiped cars, I guess we will know more officially next month on the 13th.

One single thing that makes sense:

1) It is clear that the new LT1 direct-injection V8 and V6 engines will be going into the 2015 Camaros.

2) Therefore it makes perfect sense to offer the LS7 engine, and any other special engine they have (if they want) during 2014, since you can assume these engines are going to disappear from production cars.

3) AND this MAKE SENSE because now someone looking on the lot at a 2014 or 2015 Camaro can choose: Do I want the new (lighter weight) 2015, or a 2014 which has a special engine that won't ever been seen in a Camaro ever again?

4) I think many people will take the LS7 camaro to the point that it will run out.
