I remembered the LT4 Firehawk's,just didn't mention them because we were talking about Camaro's specifically.
I did however forget all about the Canadian LT4 SS's,probably because most magazines don't mention anything about them for whatever reason

Quite a few people don't give that LT4 engine much credit.

It is a very respectable engine, especially in the lighter weight '96 Corvette.

I kind of hope it is like the motor trend concept picture or the design picture of the Z28 when GM was first introducing the 5th gen. A mix between the SS and ZL1.

GM issues a voluntary recall on the LS7 and the issue it covers is exactly the one that caused his motor to blow in the first place.

I'd wonder how well the LS7 would hold up for those of us who track our cars hard.
Would like to know more about the recall you are referring to. I'm not aware of any...but therea re quite a bit of problems with the LS7.

Traded mine for a 5th gen after owning it for a decade. I had ALOT of fun in that car. LT headers, 4:10 gears and a hotcam helped too. 116mph trap speeds with that tiny cam was pretty good I thought.
I just want my SS to trap at the same mph or higher.

Other then the valve issues, what are known issues with the LS7?

the z/28 that you guys are looking for sounds like the 1le maybe they should have just called it a z/28 to appease you guys
I don't mean literally different. It had its own engine and a track oriented suspension. It was purpose built for racing. The 1LE is just a performance package so calling it the Z/28 would have been a mistake. GM lost its way with the Z/28 name so they need to make sure it gets back to where it belongs.

I have not read the whole thread but think everyone is overthinking this whole thing. I bet they just call this car the 427 Camaro like they did with the Vette. I hope they build it and price it right.

Let's assume for a moment it's rated the same as a Z06, at 505 HP.

If it had a price tag set in the mid-40s thereabouts, I could see this as a mid-range affordable performance Camaro. Not a 1LE, but not a ZL1 either.

And just plain call it an LS7 Camaro and leave it at that. Of course, only GM knows for sure right now whether we're going to see anything like that or not. So we wait.
