I've gained 22 lbs in the last 2 months. I will get back on track after new years. Let's eat, drink, be merry today....and tomorrow we diet.

Adam! Those are great goals! Its not about finding time, its about making time. I work full time and go to night classes as well. Finally I just had to give in and do the very thing I hated, getting up early. I get up at 4am to be at the gym at 5am before work. It sucks, but when work and school are over at night I can spend the rest of my day relaxing with my husband! And your diet is key as well. I snack alot at work but my desk is filled with only healthy snacks like almonds, prunes, popcorn, and carrots with peanut butter. Can't wiat to see you reach your goal, you are young and strong you can do it! And once you get there you can set new goals. Its a lifestyle, not a destination.

Normally, I'm one to run straight to Ben and Jerry when I'm stressed, but this is a different stress from anything I've ever experienced... Even when I do eat, I'm sick within a couple of hours. About a year ago, I thought it was something physical, had a complete workup at the doctor, and everything was disgustingly normal. I'm trying to keep in mind that the weight loss is a silver lining.

I don't have a weight goal but fitting into my 34s again would be a great start! This post is a start.

Congrats on kicking the bad habits! That is awesome in itself! If you can do that you can definitely improve your diet and exercise!! Especially since you already know what works, you just have to make the time and effort!

I didn't pig out yesterday, I was pretty proud. But then again we didn't have a "naughty" dinner. Ham, sauteed brussel sprouts, scalloped potatos, fruit salad, and a salad. Didn't have desert. Only bad thing I had all day was cinnamon rolls for breakfast. But I worked those off.

I have been reading a ton on here and learning all the great mods to accomplish. Once the bank account builds back up I'll have to start in on some.

Sorry about the loss of your mother, I can not even imagine.
Maybe you should get a trainer, find one that is really motivating. I don't really have a "trainer" at crossfit but I have a "motivator" who texts me daily and keeps me accountible. I find that taking a picture each week so see the changes keeps me motivated as well.

My name is Jaren and I'm a fitness junkie. I love working out, I love eating healthy and trying new recipes with my husband. I write a fitness blog to keep me sane and motivated. I have recently signed up for 6 months of Crossfit (took me a while to find the right class and box for me) and I love it. Plan on extending my membership. I love pushing myself and reaching new records (while thinking long term sustainability). My goal is to just tone up and keep at it. My motto, "Eat clean, train mean, and inspire others."

Same advice given to me by a friend of mine who is a multi year figure competitor champ. She is regimental on diet and its impressive how little changes have added up. ESP. Where carb reduction is involved.

We should all drink more water!! During AF basic training (years ago) we were all forced to drink two 8oz glasses of water BEFORE every meal (your classic 3). Guess what? The people who needed to gain weight did and the people who needed to loose weight did. We all had the exact same diet and exercise plan.

How did everyone do today? I was a bit naughty with the left over turkey and stuffing. To top it off, it was cold here in Houston so I did not get my bike ride in like I planned. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

My wife is a baker and I love sweets. She can bake all day long and never try anything, I have to go work on my chevy truck when she is in the kitchen. LOL Today I have a lemon pie and peppermint cheesecake laughing at me from in the fridge.

5am crossfit - was leg day. Ate pretty well yesterday. Piece of toast and milk for breakfast. Toast with peanut butter and oranges for breakfast #2. Almonds and prunes for a snack. Left work early and went home. Had a small sliver of cake because my mom was getting upset that I hadn't tried it after dinner but I ate pretty much cauliflower soup all day cause I had a migrane so it evened out.

Today 5am crossfit - arms and abs. Traps are KILLING ME.

I'm going to join you all and take the challenge and group support. I'm looking for 20 pounds (10%) to vanish. I'm going to reduce consumption of heavy beer (amberbock) and cookies. If I stay away from that combo I'll be able to meet my goal by spring. If I can keep it off I'll be at my ideal weight for C5FestIV.

Welcome! That sounds like a great goal! Cutting out the treats can be tough but you should have a cheat every so often so you don't lose it and binge. Changing your diet is hard at first but it gets easier. Habits become a lifestyle.

I'll also join in. Before I started my carrier I worked at Target and UPS unloading delivery trucks. I'm 6'4" and back then I weighed 224. Since then I've had a job that is 99% sitting at a desk working on computers. I am currently at 268. I would like to drop the 40-60 lbs but put on 10-15 lbs of muscle.

To the gym after work today

Well Susan is ahead of me so far in staying on course with exercise. She has been keeping to her running routine throughout the holidays. I have kind of slacked off and need to get back into it. Even my daughter Conner is keeping up with her running. We are heading to Charleston SC in Jan. Susan is running in a half marathon and Conner is running in a 5k. I'm riding the 40 mile bike ride. I have ran a half marathon in the past but I tour my medial meniscus in my left knee so it is slowly getting back to shape. I hope to be on the road again running soon. Funny how riding a bike doesn't bother it.

Everyone here is an inspiration, keep up the posting!
