if you have ever put 89 octane in your car...or suspect it, do the fuse pull.
first you will need to run all the fuel under 91 octane out.
my dealer filled up with 89 and i didnt know about the fuse pull.
when i found out, refilled with 93 for 2 tanks(shell) then did the 5 and 20) fuse pull for 12 hours.
you will notice the difference!!!

mine idled better, and performance was noticeably different.
our cars will Go to a low octane fuel table when knock is sensed from low octane fuel and pull timing.
now i use shell 93 or Torco accelerator when i cant get premium.

and stay away from non named brand fuels...lots of alcohol and water in it.

my 2010 loves Shell 93

Yes V8 only, manual or automatic. No benefits for the V6.

It does help the V8's if there ever was 87-89 octame run in it.
i think it can be tuned out too.

what is the fuse for? I don't understand. The V6 doesn't require premium gas such as 91 or 93 octane. I fill up with 87

No, the fuse pull does absolutely nothing on our cars.

93 octane helps our cars perform better

Rather not pay the extra 20-30 cents. How does it even help?

Reduces knock letting your engine run more timing thus producing more power.

You engine doesnt knock because the v6 engine advances timing until it senses knock and then retards the timing a little to prevent it from knocking. Using 91 or 93 octane will reduce the knock retard and allow the most timing advance
