I guess it would work in a pinch. But to me,blowing it out would be like recycling toilet paper.

Did anybody notice a difference in the smell when the new one was installed?

Not personal exp. just my opinion. Think about it,blowing it off? Don't believe that would work. It looks like its designed to trap dirt and such. Not release it.

Yep, can't beat it for the price. At that price you can change once a year.

Is it an easy install? How do you get to your cabin filter?

Open the hood pop the weatherstrip off the wiper cowl on the passenger side. unscrew i think it's 3 button looking screws and switch out your filter then put everything back together. Least thats what i've seen i'm assuming they havent changed anything year to year.

Blowing out/tapping out air filters "seems" like a good idea to extend their life. Don't believe it. That actually will imbed particles in the filter that will clog it again faster, even though you are reversing the stock flow direction. Just replace them.

eBay ad says 2010-2011. Is it the same filter on a 2012?

for 12 bucks,I change it more often. Plus last year was a very heavy pollen year, looked like it after 12k. The filter was filty. But yes, depends on conditions. But for the price, I can afford to change it more often. doesn't hurt anything to do it. Afterall,it cleans the air coming into the cabin. Also I very rarely drive with the windows down.

Just got mine the other day. Happy with the quality. Looking at the ebay posting I think the OP helped the seller out quite a bit!
