IPF Supercharger in the Rain

My advice to you all with the IPF supercharger is to get a rain sock on your air filter. I was in enough rain yesterday that I can tell you I was picking up water and the car does NOT like that.

Now, what size to I get? I used the box my filter came in, so I don't know what size it is. Does anyone know what Airaid number our filter is?

This has been my concern with most all of the fi systems. The filter ends up to low for my taste. I live in snowy wisconsin and dont mind driving year round be it rain, light snow or shine...

I do know that the "water proof" rain sock I run on my open element air filter on my harley just holds water in once it soaks through. I actualy hold the back side open with a pen tube to drain the extra water out of the sock. Shut the bike down and the water poors out. Anything more than light rain starts to bog and stumble.

On the plus side water injection like this is good for cleaning valves and piston tops of carbon.

Had the same issue. I have the large injen and haven't had a problem since.

Just check my injen water sock it's the x-1038. It is a little large but I don't think the next smaller would fit.

What were the problems the car had with a wet filter? I know what my bike does with a soaked filter but have no idea how a s/c efi v6 would act.

Under boost it will mist the MAF getting a misfire, just stay out of boost in the rain and you are ok. I fabbed a shield from a ZL1 fender liner and it helped alot, I have not done the sock yet.

I already had the ZL1 fender liners since I did the ZL1 conversion, they seem to block it pretty well. I also already had the Injen HydroShield since I had the Injen long tube intake on so hopefully I'm set!
