SS Exhaust on a v6

has anyone changed their entire exhaust to 2.5 inch all around?

I know ours is 2.25 unti the very end then its 2.5 inch.

Does the increase diameter do anything toward exhaust note? good or bad?

or has anyone done 3 inchs?

I have upgraded my midpipe to one off the LS3, I haven't really noticed much of a difference. If anything it did deepen the exhaust note just a little bit but barely noticeable.

The V6 exhaust is 2.5" from the the engine back to the far end of the H-pipe. Then it drops down to 2.25".

Some members have reported an improvememnt in exhaust note with a switch to the SS system.

A catback take-off from the LS3 SS will bolt right up to any V-6. I doubt there's any real performance improvement unless you're running some kind of forced induction system.

If anyone has one laying around, I'll be willing to give it a try and let you know!

ya i am gonna go FI real soon. most likely tracys single turbo that why i was looking at a bigger exhaust kit. so now i think i need to find a ls3 full exhaust. that might be hard :/

what is best with our exhaust? should i just buy midpipes? or.... since we are 2.5 from cats to H pipe, all i need is 2.5inch from the hpipe back right

That's correct but it'll be cheaper just to get the whole cat back like I did. Because if you just get the mid pipes that's one more end you'll have to weld. Also another thing to think about is. The piping after our h-pipe is 2.25 the LS3 is 2.5 another difference is that the resonators are bigger.

how much are LS3 cat back? so i know how much to counter if someone is selling them

is the MRT still good with a turbo kit?

getting rid of my exhaust, its off an SS. Doing axle back, if interested Ill give to you for a six pack of Shiner.
