Ran E85 in my "flexFuel" truck to see how it worked out. The milage dropped from 17.5 HWY to 14.5 HWY. Only tried it one time on a long trip, so not exactly a controlled test, but 3MPG!! Needless to say... back to good ole' 87 octane.

Been out of town, so no work on the the garage queen.

Like the Z-28, but not sure I want to give up all the creature comforts to get the 427.

Just have to stop buying trucks long enough to decide on a car.

I just don't know... I really don't like the front grill (but I could live with it) on the Z28, but the biggest deal breaker are those tail lights. They look like something off an old Honda accord.

The performance upgrades are nice, but if I'm going up from an SS I'm either building it (custom + supercharger) or going for a ZL-1. Why go in the middle? If that's an LS-7 (it is) in there the side walls are more thin, making it less safe to build boost.

I mean, I get the Z28 name is great and all... I just don't see the point.

So we go:

(Base)
(SS)
(1LE)
(Z28)
(ZL-1)

Maybe the Z28 will replace the 1-LE? 5 models just seems.... Ehh.

Fixed that for ya. This is going to be (somewhat) limited production, and very expensive. Had a lengthy convo last night with "someone".

My take on this Z28...I don't think you'll find anyone buying these for a street car. Either you'll buy one for the track or you'll buy one for the garage or for storage. But really, I don't even see someone buying one for the track, because there are much lighter options out there.

I don't think anyone should look at the LS7 for anything more than naturally aspirated. That is what it was designed for, and does a very good job on its own. A supercharger would just add a lot of weight to this...and for the road course, naturally aspirated is just fine. It's more about the handling and braking than the horsepower.

This Z28 is all that, except it is still too heavy. I don't think that they will sell many Z28s, which will make them even more collectible.

^^true. They won't sell many, 'cause they won't build many. I just wish it would be ready for G17!
