I was racing my friend and kept beating me and i was wondering why my take off from 30mph was so slow i happened to hit the paddle shifter by mistake and found out i was in 4th gear at 30 mph so i dropped it to second and he hasnt won since love my v6 camaro

Paddle shifters are awesome, even better with a exhaust. but.....Im not bashing you but please consider what your doing bud, Street racing is a bad idea man. It'll catch up to you one way either police or god forbid a accident where someone is hurt.. Im looking a court tomorrow morning. Race your friend on the Track.

You'll beat him even quicker with less fun however using sportmode (automatic) because there are much more aggressive shift points and firmness.

If you havnt already, you could tune the ride to 75% shift firmness to overcome this barrier in manual mode.

On that note, street racing is illegal and not supported here on Camaro5. If you wish to spank his butt, run him up at the local track or on some private property. I can think of several places with abandoned roads where no public has access really.

Anyhow, good stuff otherwise!

Why does it matter, what size engine? I don't whine if a big block whips my tail.

No, sport mode and manual are two different beasts to play with. Paddle shifters are manual mode which requires you to tap the paddle button to enter it. Sport auto will out perform manual no matter how good you can shift because of shift prediction, shift firmness and such.

Our cars have three modes, auto, sport and manual

How much did all that cost you. Can you upload a vid too? I'm looking to do the same thing in my v6. Well. Unless it sounds like a straight up ricer

Don't you lose track of the paddles when in a turn?

Arrow Personally...

...the joy of paddle shifting is marred by the action of street racing.
