New cool air intake

Looking for a cool air intake $250-$350. Should I buy and install myself? Assuming its not very difficult or take to professional? Also what brands have you found success with.

Many people have many brands most of which will offer good reviews. You should be able to pick up almost any brand for that price range. Install can take 15 minutes for short ram versions to about 30 minutes for a full length like the Injen (long version). I personally have the Injen full length CAI and am very pleased. I do run a prefilter on it to keep from water intrusion during rain. Install for any CAI (except Vararam) is extremely simple and even the Vararam is pretty basic but slightly more involved than a standard set up none the less. Good luck and enjoy modding

Check this thread for a list of the ones we know of today. Many of them are good, some of them well maybe not so much as not many people have gone with them. Stick with the popularones and you will have a good one. Most of them are in that 300 - 350 dollar range. Can be installed in less than 30 minutes.

good luck, be sure to let us know what you go with for yours.

A catch can, a new cold air intake and an exhaust will seem like a new car! I went with the Vararam and I'm happy with it but CAI and Injen all have followers. More air in - air out the back faster equals improved performance. The catch can will help your engine last longer and should be your first mod. Enjoy whichever you chooose.

Our CAI is very different than other CAI's. We offer an enclosed and insulated airbox with a removable lid that has a filter inspection window. Our entire system is aluminum construction and is TIG welded by hand. Our intake tubes are ceramic coated to reduce heat soak, and then the entire tube, box and lid are also powder coated for a great looing and durable finish. We engineer our own filters, do mostly everything in house, and our CAI is 100% made in the USA. By using very high quality materials and processes, and with all the additional insulating factors that we incorporate into our design, the price difference for our CAI compared to others is quite low if you factor in all the additional materials, labor, processes, and quality that we offer.

Sometimes you get what you pay for, and with our product you are getting a very high quality CAI with a Lifetime warranty that was made right here in the USA, excellent fit and finish, and performance gains that have been proven and backed time and time again. Also we have no CEL issues which other brands have been known to cause.

If you have any questions just let me know, I would be happy to help.

I have a Vararam that I'm selling in your price range, arguably the best performance gains with this one. See the thread below.

Just installed a spectre cai about two hours ago and I can tell a huge difference in first and second gear. Plus it's only $ 150. Don't get sucked into paying a brand name
