I haven't had much issues with clearance with my mid mounts. When you have a mid mount they raise up with the front end of the car. So they aren't really in the center gravity of the car. The turbo's are actually right beside the back end of the wheel well, right where the firewall is. I have driven my car on almost all kinds of terrain lately as it's my DD now. And no issues with clearance after me and Tracy last year fixed the little issue I had with it. My turbo and all the oil lines sit flush with my exhaust pipes so if your going to bottom out you was going to snatch everything off the bottom end anyway lol.

Also I have already sourced out a skid plate that is made for Camaro's with mid mounts that bolt up to OEM bolt locations.

I would be interested to see this. Wouldn't mind the extra protection against kicking up rocks on the highway.

Hex vents are absolutely a plus period. Get the heat out FI or not.

The latest LFX single turbo nothing is below the chassis at any point:

You will have to email or call TTI for the plate. I think it was like $150 for everything. The plate is treated to handle the heat and rust proof as well. So it's meant to handle the turbo's and environment. http://www.turbotechnologyinc.com/site/?page_id=3
