This is hands down the best power adder or otherwise build I have read. Reads like a story, start to finish. Every mod is well thought out, tested and proved or disproved. The fact that you are a man of God is awesome too! my Grandfather was as well.

I can't wait to see whats next I Drive the opposite, IOM with black stripes but still a L99 auto. I can't imagine I will ever do half these performance mods, but I did order the JBA catted mids

Please keep up the awesome work!

Hi gang, it's been a while, but the car is going to the next stage:

- FAST 102 Intake Manifold.
- 102mm Throttle Body.
- Ported heads with 72cc chambers, should bring the compression ratio down to about 9.5.
- Aeromotive fuel voltage regulator (to see if it helps the fuel boiling/cavitation problem).

With the increased intake air volume and a little more boost (because of the lower compression), we are shooting for an even 700 RWHP. Remember, the CR is lowered, but the internals are not forged, so we're not going to go crazy on the boost.

My goal is what I call a "10.5 Summer Car", IOW, a car that can run a 10.5 ET in the dead of summer.

I expect to be at the East Coast Shootout in Darlington on April 20th!

Can I get an ?

I'm with ya Padre. I still intend to follow a build very similar to yours, so 10.50's in the dead of summer sounds like a goal.
Your still on the stock trans, right? How is it holding up?

The stock 6L80E is holding up great. I don't abuse it, and even hotlapping it isn't a problem because of my overall cooling setup (still need to add a tranny cooler for extra peace of mind). It's not bulletproof, but with smart driving, it'll last a while on a lot of power.

Got just the heads done for tomorrow's race in Darlington.

On high boost (8.7) we added about 75 rwhp.

On extra high boost (10.1) we added about 105 rwhp.

The CNC heads lowered the compression to 9.5.

It's pretty durn impressive what just the heads added. I don't intend to run more than 10 lbs of boost (often ), but it's nice to know what's on tap.

The Heretic is now officially a 700 rwhp beast.

What kind of increase did you see with just the heads?

I know what mine feels like with 470 rwhp; I can't imagine what another 230 hp would feel like lol.

OK, here's the rundown on the weekend.

We got to Darlington for the East Coast Shootout V after a night of drenching rains. The track started weeping as it dried, so we waited several hours to start, but no biggie.

First run out of the box: 10.778 @ 129.49 (1.675 sixty), on maybe 8.5 boost.

Track just wasn't in great shape and I had several flubbed runs due to traction (spinning to the 330). Getting the extra power to the ground was a challenge.

Finally, towards the end of the day I managed to cut a 10.593 @ 132.70 (1.684 sixty).

All in all, a great day! I was very pleased that I had hit my goal of 10.5 at close to 133, boost was about 10lbs.

Since I still had the rest of the weekend off, and Darlington was just running arm drops the next day, I decided what the heck and headed out to Alabama to race at my home track...

I got to Steele, and the weather is great (DA about 1100), and the day is a bit more relaxed. Hung out with a couple of ZR1's and a nice 10.7 CTS-V.

The day was pretty straighforward. Just got faster and faster as I tweaked the boost and my launch.

I managed to cut a 1.546 sixty (personal best) on a 10.439 run.

Then I discovered that my Boost Controller goes to 11! Hehe.

Cranked it up and cut a 10.371 @ 131.69. But I wasn't happy with the MPH, so I worked on the launch and set a new personal best, 10.330 @ 133.61 (1.550 sixty):

It's been a very busy summer, but now I'm getting ready for October.

I plan on running the LSX Shootout in Indy on Oct. 10-13.

Then it's off to Texas for the Texas Mile!!! My goal is 190mph.

I just sold the Roadtrek. Mixed feelings about it.

So I've got to get a new trailer, and figure out where I'm going to sleep in Indy and Beeville.

I have a 2005 GMC 2500HD for towing. I'll probably get an enclosed trailer (24' or 28') and maybe making temporary living quarters in it. That, or I'll pick up a truck camper for the GMC.

What do ya'll think?
