Any suggestions for a remote front facing camera system for this purpose?
The only thing out currently are the curb alert systems. Unless you want to DIY up something yourself.

Yep. I have MyLink. It was sitting on the lot, not one that I special ordered. I ended up in a water filled ditch in my Fusion, so I was researching prices and I wasn't even planning on buying that day, but hey it happens.

mylink is standard in all trims above LS.
Backup camera is standard in 2lt and 2SS trims and an optional package in the 1lt and ss

We already talked the phone about this like 2 months ago. It's like you told me then, you need to see the back of the my link. I wish I lived closer to you, if I did , we would have solved this conundrum a long time ago.

Anyone know the part number on the camera for the Mylink? I have done a little searching and haven't found it, not sure if it is the same and the ones for the earlier models.

on a 1SS you have to add the option for backup camera.

Depends which topic you are talking about since this has evolved into two.

1. OP's topic of adding a Backup cam to a car with mylink but no backup cam.

2. Adding a second cam to a mylink to use as a Front cam.

I have a '13 2SS with mylink and a backup cam, but would really love a front cam that plays through the mylink by just flipping a switch on the dash. I'm not close to you but willing to invest in a factory camera and work with you on something to make it happen.

Willing to share that information or make a kit? I am sure lots of '13 and up owners would be interested.

I have in the past , and dont mind doing it now, you need to get a 2 or 3 way video switch, it a set of relays that will power up when given 12V+ and set that video as prime video, i have it going in my ZL1 bumper with 2 camera's for the forward moving.

Thanks, does the Mylink show the video when it sees a signal from the camera, or do you have to use a relay to trigger something on the mylink to get it to switch over?
