Hello.
These tuners you guys talk about, what can I do with it. I presume turn off AFM,read fault codes.
What else if anything.
What sort do I buy.
How much are they.
There are a few coming into New Zealnd now, would be nice to have this facility at our workshop.
Thanks in advance.

Mine is a 2010 2ss auto.

If I am not mistaken one of the better tuning software companies(EFI Live) is in New Zealand. With their software you can change what you mentioned and a whole lot more. I have both EFIL and HPT and they work great.

I went for the Jannetty Racing method, ordered a SCT X3 handheld tuner that is going to arrive to me in the next couple of days. Made this decision based on their feedback over here and their results with other cars, also wanted a tuner who had a very positive feedback on the customer support side and a done a lot of remote tuning on cars like mine.
I like the idea with the SCT device because mainly I could go back to stock when I do a smog test etc. and you could tune the air to fuel ratio if you modify your intake or exhaust, you can also disable the rear o2 sensors if you go with no cats and so on.Also I liked the fact that for the auto transmission you can do fine tuning with the x3 device, crispier shifts no more hesitation, start from the 1st gear in M mode etc.

Let us know if we can help you. We have customers in NZ, Italy, South America and a bunch of Russian customers. We use hptuners which is I would say the most powerful tuning tool available. Along with that your are not locked out from modifying the car yourself. Hptuners allows you make changes as you wish

Lastly hptuners and efi live for that matter allow for wideband data logging. This is critical for proper tuning. I do not believe act allows for data logging external inputs like wideband air/fuel etc

Hello Alvin, If you think HP tuner is the most powerful tuning tool you have not looked at SCT.

SCT does allow Wide band data logging along with other user configurable 5 volt anolog inputs for Example, fuel pressure, oil pressure, EGT, boost controllers etc.

I have HP tuners and have successfully used it for over 12 years and still do to this day, but when it comes down to it I choose to use SCT every possible time.

Feel free to give me a call, I will go over some of the differences and ease of use.

Ted.

That's OK. We've used SCT also and really prefer Hptuners.

HPTuners has only been out for 9 years BTW
