Got a set of 1K axles and a 3.5 driveshaft from Matt. Have not had a chance to put them in yet but they look very nice!!
I will say the 1k axels are a lot heavier and tougher looking then I thought they would be and that is a good thing!

!!!

You will definitely enjoy the DSS stuff. Now you don't have to worry about breaking them!

I just bought the same axles off Matt too, I thought the same thing- they are tough looking axles!
I also bought the PFADT sport sway bars and adjustable links, they make an amazing difference compared to the stock sway bars, really handles great!
Driveshaft & hammerhead is next.
Thanks again Matt!

Is there a weight savings over stock with the aluminum DSS LS3 drive shaft?

Very minimal I think its within 2 lbs or so... The gains are the strength of not having the rubber guibos being able to twist and sheer off bolts or breaking at the 2-piece junction.

That is some destruction! Yes, the rubber really does not hold up well against some power. Remember, these parts were engineered to hold stock power (And yes in certain circumstances they don't even hold stock power too well when aggressively driving them as they should be!)

Yea Matt I think the Hammerhead and driveshaft is next, I'll be in touch when I have the $, I don't want that happening again, it can be very catastrophic if one breaks and tears a hole in the tank with all the heat under there.....
P.S.
I love the axles, no issues at all! 30 minutes to install, these cars are so easy to work on!
The sway bars too make a huge difference!
