I.Love. It. Seriously. It would look great next to MY 1957 Buick Special Estate Wagon! And for those that said the color was Pepto Bismol...the pink on my wagon is a perfect match to that substance...pour it on the hood and it disappears...that ZL1 is a better pink than mine. Nice work.

I agree.

It's a really good paint job from quality/technique point of view. If you don't like the color, big damn deal. It's not your car

Mustang people would take a ZL1 in any color

Anyway, I like the reverse painted rally stripes, it never occurred to me that you could even do something with the cf insert.

Serious question, I thought it would be dadgum difficult to change a black car to something else especially a lighter shade. And someone mentioned wrapping instead, but anyone have a legitimate guess as to what a paint job like this, a black ZL1 to summit white or rally yellow, would cost. And what did they do with the door jams and what not, I'm kind of guessing they left them black, but I don't know.

I am sure JimMckay could answer. I am pretty sure they painted the door jams. Look at all the prep work in the video.

Back in the day, FORD did try to sell a Factory "PINK" Mustang. Total Disaster, some dealerships got stuck and had to repaint out of pocket just to get rid of them. But if its your money you can do whatever you please. Personally I'd put the monies into Performance Mods.

Pink ZL1 Jim McKay Chevy in Northern VA

That's the right way to prep and paint a car, but the color is way too "Hello Kitty" for my taste. No matter where you sit in that car, whether it be the driver's seat, passenger seat, or rear seats; you can't feel like a real man (haha). For a chick though, I give her mad respect for zooming down the street in a shiny pink ZL1. You'd have to high-five her for buying the ZL1 and not settling for a V6. Any dude who pulls up to an intersection next to her in his Camaro with a 3.6L V6, will slump down in his drivers-seat and drop his head in self shame.

Good for her its a nice car with a quality paint job with probably more coats of clear then three of our cars put together. I give her props for not being scared to be different and paying out the cash to get exactly what she wants!

After seeing the stripes on her car, I'm almost sure I will have flat black stripes put on my car in the same design.
