No i have not, this will be the base price, as per Al Oppenheiser.

We’ve got one speaker in the car and the only reason that we have one speaker in the car is because you need a speaker to have the seat belt chime audible to the driver. You can option up, if you desire, the air conditioning and a base radio system. We have been very strategic in where we have taken mass out of the car.
so add 5-7K to put back AC and radio and where close to 100K.

If thats the case, I cant see the car being worth that price even if the track times are low 7:20s Can you post the link where Al O specifies base around $100k?

If it's in the low 7.20's that would make it one of the top 10 track cars on Gods green earth. Just throwing that out there.

You are definatley putting the car in a certain demographic than your average Joe can afford which is what the Camaro always was to me, the perfect sports car for the middle class. The ZL1 for me was the top of the class for everyday Camaro owners. To pay 10k for every second faster than the ZL1 (if 85k for Z/28) )around a track brings the "want" of this car to only a select few, kind of like the COPO did. IMHO I wanted to see a Z28 for the average joe and this is not it. But congrats to those of you who got exactly what they wanted, a very special car.

The Z06 is the go-by. The car won't stray too far from it IMO. 75K-80k is probably the upper limit. I want one bad, but anything over 80k and I'll probably have to bow out

I really think GM is making a poor decision here... the Z/28 as described so far, is only going to be appealing to a very small group. It seems apparent that they are going to price it north of the ZL1, and the ZL1 to me is the limit for a new Camaro...

I really wonder if it would not have been more effective the go with Z/28 nomenclature instead of 1LE... and fit the Z/28 in between the SS and the ZL1? I have seen nothing but positive reviews about the 1LE changes, and they seemed to be geared towards handling and road corse style racing...

Then buy a 1LE. Why does the name matter if it's the car that someone wants?

There's a Camaro designed for anyone wanting one!!!
