I will since it's only a matter of time till they go. Especially with the drag radials now.

I could launch at less then that but I just haven't been able to time it right so it doesn't bog. Which im running a Monster Level 3 clutch and its great for how I slip the clutch, performed pretty good so far. Which iv only been launching like this for 2 weeks, before that I was running 12.5-12.6 with 2.2-2.35 60'.

It was also good for 28th spot in the Internal Engine Mods plus Bolt-Ons Stock Displacement class in the drag forum on here. I think there is only 4 cars on the top 30 running street tires.

Stock axles and driveshaft, and honestly Im not worried about them at all. How it leaves is great, no wheel hop and not a big shock to the drivetrain. They may go eventually but Im pretty confident they will last a while until I decide to upgrade.
I'm going to give your method a try. I upgraded my clutch last year to the McLeod RXT so I think it will be ok for a while. Worst case scenario, I will find all the weak links real quick.

Yea, I think as long as you launch right the axles will be fine. The biggest thing that breaks stuff is wheel hop. Which Iv barely had any this year. Last year I had a lot of problems, which I didn't really have any sort of idea what I was really doing anyways lol.

Hopefully I don't find my weak link anytime soon, last week was expensive enough. But when it comes, I'm not going to be butt hurt. Just like my throw out bearing, just a matter of time.

I guess you could wait til they break, but if you launch hard and have enough power behind it the axles will break pretty easy. I'd much rather replace the weak links before they break. It's a known issue with the M6. I'd hate to be at the track and break something like that and have to tow the car back. That's just me tho.

There is no doubt that that's the ideal way. I just don't have the spare money to go buy some gforce or dss axles unless I absolutely NEED to. So don't think I don't agree with you because I do, it's just not in my best interest at this point in time. Lucky for me we have a trailer so if she breaks at the track I can haul her back home myself.

Ahh having that trailer is nice. I wouldn't be to concerned if I had a trailer. Those axles are expensive. I'm waiting on my Gforce axles now.

Yea, its nice having it for sure. Good piece of mind knowing I won't have to call a tow company to come get me. Just gotta hope my dad is feeling nice or I have a friend that can drop me off at the house to get the truck and trailer.

I've done no research, so I know nothing on their quality. I was just mentioning it since he mentioned DSS in his earlier post & they went for less than half the usual cost last year at that event. At that price, if they're better than the stock ones, it's still a deal. Having an early M6 V6, I have the same rear end as you, but I don't have to worry about putting enough power down to trash mine & if I was my undersized tranny would be the first to go anyways. If you look at the ratings for the M6 V6 tranny, it's rated for less power than the V6 puts out from the factory.

That's a hell of a drive to maybe get some axles. Don't plan on going but if I have nothing going on it might be a fun time at least. Doubt it though, I still want to get my car painted before C5F4 and have money for the fest and hotel there. And I have to buy atleast one "souvenir" .

Could you explain, I haven't really searched much on their products and have never used any myself.

I can only go off of what a very close friend's exp. He has a car that is well over 700rwhp, and drags it all the time. He originally bought a DSS 9 inch, axles the whole damn set up. He bought the 1400hp axles, and destroyed 3 of them while racing. That started his displeasure with DSS. He dealt with Frank alot. He got tired of the 1400hp axles breaking. His car isn't close to that, so why were they breaking? No one could figure it out. Then the 9 inch started breaking. I can't remember everything that went wrong with it, but he got sick of having to take it out fix something and then install it again. DSS will fix most issues, but if you have a shop install stuff then that can get expensive. He got in touch with Gforce and basically sent the DSS to them and got a sponsorship and whole new gforce 9 in set up. He's had it for over a yr now and not a single issue. Plus Chris the owner of Gforce is a great guy and will honor the lifetime warranty gforce has no questions asked. IMO Gforce is just a better company with a better product. Their products are built to last. I'll never put DSS product in my car.

I've been going since it started. I have a buddy with a 2002 Z28 who moved from up here & lives in the city the show is, so I visit & we take the cars to the track.
