I have 18x10.5 c5 wheels with 56 offset, they fit with a small spacer perfect.

First of all, WHICH C5 rims are you talking about? "chrome" doesnt give us a good indication of what wheel it is.

Are you looking for just 2x rear rims to use for drag tires? If thats the case, then ANY 18" C5 corvette wheel will fit on the REAR of our cars without issues.

I have seen C5 'wagon wheels' and C5 Z06 wheels on the back of our cars being used as a drag rim.

I personally have 18" c5 corvette wagon wheels for drag wheels. They fit just fine and 18" tires are a hell of a lot cheaper AND easier to find too! Offset is relative to wheel width and size too.. some 18x9.5" C5 vette wheels will fit the rear nicely.

If you're looking to mount all 4x vette wheels then thats a different story.

Good luck!
Hey guys,

Just trying to get a straight answer here so I don't miss a good deal. To be clear, I am ONLY using these for drag radials (rear only) and will only be installing them on days that I take it to the track, which will only be a few times a year. Here is a pic of what he sent me. Appears that these are the "stock" Vette rims (in chrome) off of a 2000-2004 C5 Vette? They are 18x9.5. I know the offset is NOT 40mm, but will these work is the question???? And, more importantly am I SAFE to do this knowing that I'm using them to drag race??? Makes me a little nervous to be getting such different replies.

Thanks!

John

You'd need to know the offset of the rims... 18x9.5/40mm C6Z rims fit in back without spacers (as I've read), and 56mm offset require a spacer because they tuck in more.

I might know someone in Kenosha selling some stock size (rear) 555R Nitto Drags half used if you are interested, pm me. I daily drive mine:

I've never seen that "style" of wheel tried before. Hard to say whether it will fit or not. Even if they are the correct 18x9.5 (+40), they might not have enough mounting pad height clearance to clear the calipers.

Those are early C5 wheels or replicas.

We used to call these wagon wheels not sure why, 1999 Corvette:

Jeff both of those would need a spacer per the info on the web. The latter and variations of it get used often I think on here. Anyone know what size spacers folks run.

Depends... How thick of a spacer?

And it also comes down to thread engagement, would you have enough thread to secure the lugs.

Historically I've raced with a small spacer, but I watch that thread engagement and if there is not what I think is enough, I would change the combo or run longer wheel studs.

no one has mentioned, the vette wheels will work, but THEY are not an exact fit, the lug spacing on the camaro and the vette are not the same...vette is 5x 120.65 aka 5x4.75 and the camro is 5x120mm...like i said the rims will go on and will tighten down, but i would be safe and torque them and check torque after evry run...only takes a minute and better be safe then sorry...and i posted earlier the zr1 rims would fit ..that would be incorrect...the correct rims that fit the camaro with best offset is the zo6 and grand sport rims...there are tons of aftermarket which usuall runs 56mm offset , which will not work
