AREA 51 Build Journal

Hey everybody. Let me introduce you to my new love. Her name is A51. (I was always curious about secret us military base - area 51. Not that long ago I read Annie Jacobsen's book - Area 51, which was the best book I've ever read. So that's how my Camaro got her name.) She was born in May 2011 in Oshawa, Canada. I met her on 11/23/12 in Janesville, Wisconsin. It was love from the first sight. From the first time I saw her she charmed my heart. How can you not fall in love with such beauty! I took her home on 11/28/12. From that moment her steel heart and my human heart beat as one...

Update 7/27/2013
When I bought my camaro I knew that I can find its build date on the edge of the drivers door. When you open the door there is a sticker with build month and year. And just recently I find out that there is another sticker under the hood on the left/passengers side in front of the engine on the frame, which has not only month and year, but also the day camaro was build. So my A51 has officially her birthday on 5/18/2013

Mods:
1. Cargo net
2. TL1 hood insert (AGM color)
3. ZL1 style roof, trunk & spoiler stripes (black matte)
4. Rear quarter window louver decals (black matte)
5. Rear quarter panel side vent decals (faded black color)
6. Wheel canter cap insert decals (IOM color)
7. Custom painted front and rear bowties (IOM/AGM colors)
8. IVS Havoc rear spoiler (AGM color)
9. Custom made A51 emblems for trunk, grille and hood
10. ZL1 grille
11. Showstoppers LED side markers
12. Custom painted tail lights bezel (black matte color)
13. CAI inc cold air intake (AGM color with IOM accents)
14. Rear bumper blackout (black matte)
15. Gibson performance axle-back exhaust
16. Stillen/Street scene side skirts (IOM color)
17. Stillen/Street scene front splitter (AGM color)
18. License plate frame. (AGM color)
19. VMax ported throttle body.

sweet car, i wish i wouldve gotten a IOM also, or the RJT. I was stupid for going with white. I gotta say though, I'm not the biggest fan of the painted rims, I got the bare aluminum version of the same wheels. sure the brush strokes arent uniform at all, but im a bare metal kinda guy.

too bad ou dont have the RS package either, thats another thing i wish i had. just more room for improvement huh?

thanks man,
talking about white camaro, take a look at this thread : http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175553
in my opinion this guy -ZoMBiE_KMF - has the best looking white v6 in this forum. it doesn't matter what color is your car, you can make it look bad ass.
i didn't buy RS package on purpose. i knew that i'm gonna get different spoiler and different rims, so i chose non-RS model. as you say - more room for improvement.
talking about wheels, i have stock 19' wheels. they are not painted. maybe it looks different in the photos

P.S. english is my second language. i'm originally from europe, so apologies if i make some mistakes

P.P.S. upgrades coming soon

btw, Meguiar's liquid wax to the front bumper and hood, works quickly and fast. its good affordable maintenance protection against the elements. it comes with an applicator pad, and you just need to pick up 2 plush microfiber wipes.

Come on, man!! You at least have had to do some minor mods in the past 5 months?? You've at least blacked out the bowties, no???

Lets see some pics!

no, i didn't black out bowties but i was thinking about that. my first upgrade to the car was cargo net for the trunk. seriously
but we are here not to talk about cargo nets, right?

so here are some photos of my real first upgrade:
thank you ACS Composite for awesome TL1 hood insert and
thank you All Auto Body inc (elk grove village, il) for amazing paint job and installation
the insert color is AGM

so this weekend i installed ivs havoc rear spoiler. i had it sitting painted in my garage for 3 weeks. the reason it took me so long to install it, is poor poor service of the body shop i bought the spoiler from. so i bought the spoiler from custom classics, lake island, il. they are official retailers for ivs auto. when i went to pick up painted spoiler, they forgot to give me a template for drilling holes in the trunk. they gave me a package with installation instructions, double sided tape, adhesive promoter and there supposed to be template in the package. and i made a mistake that i only looked inside that package when i got home. so i called them and asked about the template. they said that they will look for it and will call me back. 3 days later i called again, because they didn't call me back. and this time they said that they don't have to provide me the template because they don't get them from ivs. even though they guaranteed me while ordering that they will give me the template. so of course i got pissed. i called ivs auto and talked with Adam. he said that he will mail couple of templates to custom classics for me. about a week later i called the body shop again. they said that they have the template and will mail it to me. so after few days i received a thank you letter from them, but no template. so i emailed my address to Adam from ivs and asked to send the template directly to me. he said he will send it. this was two weeks ago. i still didn't get my template. horrible service.
so i drilled the holes in the trunk by description from other forum members. it wasn't perfect, so i have to widen the holes to make it work. so finally i have my spoiler installed, but i will never use custom classics again

i also installed custom painted bowtie. thanks Lupe from River City Creations & Lighting.
and also installed custom A51 emblem. thanks to Roger from emblempros
so my camaro officially have her name badge

Your car looks great! Mods are coming along nicely!!! The hood insert and stripe really give the car an aggressive edge!
