I love my maggie!

Installed it in the fall:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261550

Drove it for 2 days and did not get much of an impression, roads were slippery and it was cold.

Had it out for almost 2 months now and am loving it. Hooks way better than it did in the fall.

This is the perfect power adder for the street. Slight whine but otherwise stealth. Turns into a lovely scream when you open it up. Better manners than stock you can putt around at low rpm and no lugging or bucking. Cruise in 6th and save fuel.

I've got a 9 second Vega and get my YaYa's out at the track with a NA big cam 4500 rpm launch. Don't need a high top end no bottom end car for a driver. Don't need a lopey idle to let everyone know I've got something, it's a lot more fun to be silent as stock smooth at idle, and then to roll into it gently and destroy the Subara STi who thought he had your number (why is it always the ricers who want to go?)

So if you are looking for max power or to show off your dyno sheet go with a Centri or Turbo if this is your weekend drag car. But the power below the curve is where you are at on the street 99% of the time and this is where the roots type shines.

I'm probably a bit different in preference since I've been running lumpy cam muscle cars on the street and drag racing a fully prepped NA car for 25 years. But this is the answer for me, don't regret it for a second, I think I made the perfect choice.

While I'm on the topic, the C5 has to be one of theee worst platforms to choose for a drag car ever. Way heavy and independant rear. Bad base. My high nine second Vega has a $3800 383 in it. Weighs 2250 with me in it. Narrowed 9 inch rear cost me less than a grand, with center section, strange axles and spool.

Yes I've noticed it's always the ricers who want to go. Even after you destroy them they keep coming back. Even if they have wife and kids in the car. Even if there's not enough road. They are like rust ... They never sleep ...

Nice write-up. I'm loving mine too. Even bleeding boost with the stock pulley, it's a night & day difference. I sometimes wish I could put mine in "sleeper " mode, like yours constantly is (to surprise the ricers), but there's no hiding the sound of the cam & headers ... 'Not complaining though.

I get a chubby every time I listen to youtube clips of the rough idle blower cams. Still, I don't want to be rolling around town like that.
Nothing sounds like my open header, 14.75:1 compression, massive lift and duration Vega anyways. If I need some Viagra, I just go flash it up instead.

I've found the Vortech v3 to be nice and stealthy too. Lots of low end grunt also with it and the auto since the converter unlocks and puts me to 6psi or so instantly, then climbs to 12 psi, and only drops to about 6 after the shift. It is nice to lug along at 1000 rpms and not be bucking like my last setup did. Maybe the stock L99 cam helps too but the throttle response is amazing and can boil the tires at will.

I was torn between Maggie, Whipple and Vortech. I'm pretty sure I'd have been very pleased with any of the 3.

I couldn't agree more that this car isn't the platform for a high rpm screamer. Sure is perfect to run some boost (and some spray) on the street tho!

For a street ride, the Maggie is VERY hard to beat. Others make more power but for the RPM range we use most often on the street for LEGAL driving, there really is nothing better.

Sums it up basically Plus reliable, easy to work with, availability of add ons & parts, and the power made can be unlimited

Yea, since calling it a "blower" is a lot more masculine.

believe it or not it is, and is also more common than the word supercharger.

I dont think Jerry Magnuson would like to be called "maggie" but hey you might as well refer to your camaro as "cammie"

Just the odd spanking here and there.

I beat on the Mustangs and Ricers though

The challengers are smart enough not to try.
