Is this a common occurrence? Not just on 1LE's but SS's in general. I am VERY familiar with the actual diff housing as I worked on the engineering end of the CNC machining of the part. Zeta platform uses both one piece and two piece diff housing. They never told us what cars they went in but I'm guessing the beefier two piece goes in the SS. Please tell us WHAT in the rear end failed when you find out. Thanks.

The only question that remains....was it the Ring & Pinion or the spider gears within the Posi-Unit???

LE1 posi unit? I thought SS only got the fun.

I'm curious what nuked, as well.

Looking forward, if the parts are weak... I may be inclined to look towards an SS rear vs deal with the other. I noticed Eaton Detroit TrueTrac has a dif they list for the LS.... :/ hmmmm...

i got it towed to my dealer they said they would call me back saturday but they didnt and there closed sunday. ill follow up tommorow and see whats going on. My car only has 1500 miles and as far as mods go just intake and lowering springs

Got my diff special order today, gm wants it disected to see what exacly failed. Upgraded axels on 1le are beast and hold up but I guess the weak link are the spider gears. But I rather replace an axel when my warranty is over, over a diff

That was the first couple days, under 400 miles and 50/60s.....

They are now throwing rocks and picking up every little pebble when warm..

It's all on how you care for the tires... mine is not a daily driver and it's always garage'd and cleaned impeccably...

Was the cars t/c in competition mode? It holds the RPMS perfectly for you at 4k!
