It's sitting in a lot somewhere with birds crapping all over it, getting filthy and full of contaminants. I don't mean to piss you off, but the same thing happened to my wife's 2012 LaCrosse. It got held up in inspection and the rocker panel cover was missing on the passenger side. If this car was inspected how could they miss that? Good luck!

My first impression was, "why would anyone be upset about their expensive new car getting extra QC?" So many cars get built on the line, that small mistakes happen all the way up to lemons, you just won the lottery as yours is going to be inspected thoroughly.

Then I realized in this post that it's been delayed over a month, and that now moves into the realm of ridiculous. Even a detailed QC on the car shouldn't take more than a few days... What is your plan at this point? Wait it out, or try to make some calls?

Mine was delayed for QC and then it was delayed waiting for transportation. It will happen and you will forget all the frustration of the wait.

My 1LE that was built on 4/12 was shipped on Monday, 5/13, and arrived at the dealer yesterday, 5/15. Shipment was via truck from Oshawa to north of Syracuse, NY. No rail transport involved. There is hope. It looks like they are working through the cars and shipping as the "QC Inspection" is completed.

trust me, the wait, no matter how long it is, is worth it!
you'll understand once you get your car.

It does not take a month to complete a "QC Inspection" on a car. This must then mean a part on the car needs to be removed and replaced or may still need to be installed. I am sure the cars are getting pulled from the parking lot, the part is getting replaced or installed and then the car is released. This is why it seems so random as to which cars are currently still bayed and which cars are being released and shipped. I don't understand why GM will not just be upfront with its customer's and explain this to them.

Yes, I wonder why they will not tell you what they are doing to the car? I got a call from some woman at GM today in Detroit and all she would tell me is the same crap I have been hearing for a month now. "Well Sir it is being held for quality assurance" I asked her if she could tell me when they are going to ship it and it was "I am sorry sir I do not have that information here so I cannot tell you that". After that she told me she would check on it each week and let me know when it is shipped. EACH WEEK?

If GM won't tell you the reason why your car has been sitting at the plant for a month, there must be a good reason for it, which probably doesn't make a person feel great about their $60k investment. I believe honesty is the best approach here, tell the customer exactly what the quality issue is, then tell the customer what the company is doing about it. I think if GM tried this approach they would find customer's would be more understanding and willing to wait weeks for their car's to arrive, instead of being kept in the dark and just hoping each day of each week that their car might ship and then wondering why it has not.

I have thought about it all night since the lady called yesterday about my car and I believe I will call the dealer today and see if we can work out something about my car. If I do decide to wait on it you can bet your ass that when that car gets here I will go over and over that car to see if everything is ok. If I can find something close to what I ordered I will go and get it. I will keep you posted.

I would never be able to order a car. I just have no patience...I couldn't imagine having to wait and extra 2 months for no clear reason. If I were you, I would've been looking for a replacement after about a week of qc hold. You should make the dealer. Sorry to hear all of this...

My car also was to be shipped but it is still bayed since 4/12. Just wish we knew what was going on but all of the request falls on GM and they are not saying anything except it is held for quality inspection. How long does that take? Someone posted in this thread that he was told the cars would not be shipped till June. I did not want to believe that but now I am starting to think he is right. I just hope it is not the end of June!

Well the dealer ask me to wait one more week last week and guess what? They called me today and it is shipped!!! It is on a rail car headed to OKC. Is that magic or what? Anyway,I am glad it is finally on it's way. Probably be here the middle of next week. All of you have said the wait is worth it so I guess I am about to find out.
