The argument is over is it a "production car?"

I said the NHRA views it as a production car. The words from the GM exec was "most expensive Camaro produced"

Despite what you think the COPO was a production run with options for the buyer. It was extremely limited but that was per NHRA rules.

It had its own special assembly point but i don't see how that is any different than the LS7 being hand built at its own special location.

As for the other part of my price equation - the Z07. It is a pretty expensive package that included aero improvements and carbon ceramic brakes. The Z07's MSRP was about 90k.

Then I made the guess that the price is probably 86,500 because it is more expensive than a COPO and featured some of the "extras" a Z07 had on it.

I stand by that MSRP considering it is a guess and nothing more.

As I said before you have some homework to do...

...regarding your guess the base Corvette was $50K, the base Camaro $23K. Throw on the upgrades and your not anywhere near a Z07.

Not really - i just took a different approach. Right now it is also a game of what do we believe is true from GM.

Do we know for a fact that the COPO was included when he made his comment. Do we know if it was a base ZL1 or a loaded convertible ZL1? (isn't that about a 10k difference?)

Dealer markups and so on. I mean right now that could be 75k.

As for the COPO it does use the basic Camaro body and interior pieces etc. So just adding parts to a V6 IMO will not get you there like you are suggesting.

Dude,
You are all over the place.

1. The context was regular production
2. As compared to a ZL1
3. The COPO is not regular production, but a specialty build (yet the NHRA considers it a production vehicle not a special build because its based on a production car using the production chassis...
4. We're speaking of Sticker price
5. Stealerships BEWARE!
6. The price comparison was to a Z07 not a COPO

I don't see how I am all over the place.

To me I consider the most expensive production Camaro is the COPO.
It was said the Z/28 is the most expensive Camaro produced.

The Z07 is an LS7 powered track version of the Z06 with upgraded brakes and aerodynamics.
The Z/28 is an upgraded SS with the LS7, brakes, and aerodynamics.

86k for the COPO
90k for the Z07

I place my bet on 86.5k

I mean it is still a guess like every other post. I already accepted that this car will not be replacing my Z06. But i would still love to have it.

A copo will run you more then 86k.
Its still not a production car. You can not just go buy one and drive it. Nit evrn race it. You have to have an nmra/nhra license like the cobra jet to even buy. You can not drive it on the street at its not a street car. But a purpose built racecar. With no vin number, that is on non dot tires. Also the copo is more then an upgraded ss as well is the copo.

And yes GM said will be most expensive camaro. Hence they are not talking copo either.

If I had one I'd drive it on the street anyways. It's only illegal if they catch you.

Not to mention that a crate LS7 is more expensive than a crate LSA.

I know there are a lot of people that WANT the Z28 to be reasonably inexpensive, but it does not look like it will be.

The brakes on the Z/28 won't add $10k to the price. The Z07 package was about $11k and it was new tires, carbon fiber pieces, CC rotors and mag ride suspension.

the Z07 package was actually just brakes and tires for 7k
Then the carbon fiber package had the splitter and side skirts (or whatever they are called) for another 4k

Somewhere in there the mag ride was also included but i dont remember which option.

I just found an article and it said the Z07 pack was $9,495 and included the carbon brakes, ZR1 wheels and tires and the mag shocks.

I'm really surprised that no one has mentioned it (at least that I can tell) - the current Motor Trend has a nice piece on it and has the estimated base MSRP @ $63,000.

I'm going with that.

After reading the new Car and Driver article,
It is safe to say that it will be a very low number of cars produced so with all the Corvette goodies,
I would think high 70,000. Without the dealer markups.
