It's kinds hard to see, but on both of the front signal lights, there is a little plastic piece that says Camaro, an I think that is a cool little touch.

Otherwise, the rest of the refresh isn't bad. It's still a Camaro and still looks better than 99% of the cars on the road.

Chevrolet has done some weird things lately. They say they listen to their customer base but yet they deliver things like more plastic chrome trim and a hill holding feature on the manual transmission that - by all reports - is awful and not defeatable.

Difficult to fathom how that rear end, front chrome trim, wheels and non-defeatable hill holder gets enough blessings to make it to production.

Man, I hate that chrome strip. What a terrible idea. Besides that I am starting to like them. I hope GM drops that thing soon.

Funny thing happened at the Fbody Gathering in Atlanta last weekend......

.........nearly everyone liked what they saw (Crystal Red SS/RS) -- the main comment was "I don't care for the chrome strip" - and I suspect that some will paint it - some may try to remove it - and others will decide they like it once they see it for a while. Nearly everyone said "wow - I like it in person!" This did not surprise me or shock me - because you see - since the sixties (I was a pup back then) I can remember hundreds upon hundreds of styling changes that some people didn't like. (...they were a bit more polite back then.......) And yet after a few months, the style was just fine, thank you. (....well......OK...........we won't talk about the Aztek....)

This change is kinda like the first pictures of the steering wheel that were snapped in Europe wayyyyyyyyy back in 2007 -- and leaked on this very website.......if you go back and look at the threads -- it seemed the world was about to come to an end because the steering wheel was 'ugly' -- 'fugly' -- "horrid" -- (insert your favorite insult here).........

.........and so we listened and started work on a new steering wheel for '12 model year. (yup - it takes some time to validate esp. for airbag and such...)

........and suddenly people were up in arms because we were getting rid of the:

'magnificent' and "awe-inspiring" and "..solves world conflict..." (OK -- I made that last one up....) steering wheel to put an "ugly" - "fugly" - "Horrid" (Insert your favorite insult here).......steering wheel in the '12.........

.......do we see a pattern here?

Now -- Devryn - how would you like it if I called you a moron?

I wouldn't do such a thing-- and frankly I don't know you that well to make such a pronouncement -

and I suspect you're a great guy -- So - how 'bout not calling the Camaro Team "Idiots?" I think the team's proven that they're pretty good at what they do............

Seeing a car in person is a different thing. I wasn't a big fan of the Synergy Green until I saw one in person at "Test Track" at Walt Disney World and loved it! Still knew Victory Red was the color I wanted but could definitely see the appeal of the Synergy Green.

Also, if there's one thing we know from the 5th gens is that people are going to alter things to suit their own tastes & personalities. Who cares if it has a chrome strip? People have changed a lot bigger things on their cars so far. I blacked out several things on mine because it how I like it. The fact that those items I blacked out came differently from the factory doesn't change how awesome a job the Camaro team did with the car!

i agree, the chrome strip is really bad, i like the sleek look of the headlights and grille, and i dont hate the tailights but prefer the old ones.... and as much as i love the ZL1 front, they probably should have updated it as well, its weird having the new rear and "old" front, oh well

we were thinking that some people who live in NY will probably put curb feelers on it as well as a "sim-con" roof and perhaps a gold package.........

Sorry -could not resist! Only kidding. (....I used to live on Long Island...)

I suspect this will be a non-issue in a few months - and, as someone mentioned....it just gives you another thing to change and personalize your Camaro. (...chrome taillamp surrounds come to mind...)

What do you think the "camaro" badges on the fenders and the bowties are made of?

I agree with the not liking chrome from the pictures, but walking around the car, I personally think the whole thing (RS or non) looks amazing. And if you don't like the chrome, spend 10 bucks on a can of plasti-dip and cover that sucker up! It's hard to get everything "perfect" when the crowd to please is so diverse, and not everyone likes the same thing. To think that Chev is doing such a great job now, think about the future. What we said about gen 5.0, they tried to fix with gen 5.1. I am willing to bet the lights will change for gen 6 along with a lack of chrome strip.
