I believe mine are the 5W blue LEDs. They had a 15W white, but only blue they had was 5W. I'd love to have a new one built that has a more visible light during the evening hours, before it got dark. That way people could actually see them during the day and not only at night meets.

Thanks guys. I'm like kicking myself for not installing them sooner, kept putting it off because I didn't want to cut into my door panel.

that's my one hiccup with them. I might ask Ofer if he has any stronger blue LEDs that I could swap in.

We could help you out with LED's, too. Find out what you have and we can go from there.

I have a 1.5W spot that is really bright for lighting up the hood-pad bow tie (it's mounted to a bracket with magnets and attaches to the "frame" just above the driver-side headlight). I also have 3, 5, 10W and up...

Let me talk to Third Gen and I'll let you know. Could you give me some more info on these spot lights you're talking about. For engine bay lighting I'm currently using the LEDs that are mounted to the hood pad push pins (got them from you) and they could be brighter to be honest.

Yes, those are really just accent lights.

Here is the 1.5W spot itself...

Are they bright enough though? I just can't really imagine 1.5 watts putting out that much light.

That one is 70 lumens. The 3w is 180, 5w is 400, Obviously, the more wattage, the bigger the part.

I mean not like "stupid" bright - but bright enough where I can accent the whole engine bay. I mean I realize that these shine up to the bowtie, so they don't need to be that bright - but the accent LEDs in the hood blanket could be a little brighter yea

OK, so, you just mean brighter down-lights? I thought you were talking about the gobos still.

In case it's still relevant, here is a couple phone pics of the hood pad illuminated by that 1.5W spot...

A more central location would be better, but, my Vararam eats that up.

I've been working on new down-lights for a bit now, but, orders and the tails have back-burnered that.

yeaaaaaa - pretty sure the first mod (after a RX catch can) that every car I ever own from this point on is going to be a fire extinguisher.

My dad has been showing cars all his life. I have never seen him drive a performance car without a fire extinguisher. I've also never seen him use it, but shit happens.

Well considering the first thought that went through my head when I saw flames coming out from under the hood was "**** - why didn't I ever install a fire extinguisher." Because I'm willing to bet that if I'd had a fire extinguisher the only things I would have to replace would be the intake manifold, hood, and maybe some of the engine bay wiring - compared to you know, the whole freaking car.

It only takes that 1% of the time you need it that makes lugging it around for the other 99% worth it.

On a side bar - I still haven't told my dad about this yet, I honestly think he'll be more upset then I am.
