Don't know - but got a call from the tow truck company. Apparently Kaylee's transmission reignited earlier this morning, flames were coming up out of the four gauge pack area. They were able to put it out with a fire extinguisher though.

Side bar - this is exactly why I asked the Fire Department chief last night if they could check my car over with a TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera), they told me it wasn't necessary. I mean it doesn't really matter, she's totaled either way :/

So sorry to see this happen to you man... this sucks. Was hoping to come see what you've done lately and see this... :(

Hopefully on a brighter side, Kaylee V2.0 in the future?

Yeaaaa - I'll be honest though. I'm not 100% sure it's all "sunken in" yet.

It only takes that 1% of the time you need it that makes lugging it around for the other 99% worth it.
Better that you didn't try to open the hood while it was on fire and try to put it out. You never know man.

I was nauseous when I saw that this morning. Glad you are ok.

So I'm going to make a request to all the vendors.

If I ever, and I mean ever, bought something from you - could you PLEASE send me a PM. I am trying to get all of my receipts/invoices together for insurance and don't want to miss anything/leave anything out.

I would really appreciate it guys. Thank you much.

HO-LEE-CRAP! Sorry for the loss of the car. That must have been the worst just watching it and not being able to do anything. I personally would be sitting in a dark room for a week. I hope everything turns out ok for you. Side note- I'll be looking for a fire extinguisher now.

I think if you told most people here that someones car had burned like that they'd assume it was me.

RJ, man, I can't imagine. You are easily one of the most passionate guys on the forum about modding your car. Even Bonnie said she's sick over this.

With all you've been through with it. From the pricks who keyed it, to the pic in your sig with the cop situation. A storied car here.

I suck at knowing what to say. I'm sorry this happened. Glad you are ok though.

Side note ..... did they not unplug the battery? How the heck did it restart?

They make chrome ones that are actually nice looking to mount.

So sorry RJ for your loss :( You have been through a lot with Kaylee and have shown a lot of members here on the what's and how's on modding the Camaro. Like someone else said, something good will come out of this and your passion will be reignited again. I look forward to seeing what you do with your next car. (I see a 1LE in your future )

Nope, they didn't unplug the battery. They did have to pry open the trunk though (yay for our cars not having a manual trunk trunk release - well one that you don't have to climb into the trunk to access).

Get a nice bracket so you can mount it right under the driver's seat

Possibly - all depends on how much insurance gives me.

I'm so sorry for your loss. You're car was amazing! Hope everything goes well for you

I know this doesn't help but I kind of know what you're going through. My uncles Camaro caught on fire outside my house as well. It was a terrible day. Loved that car just as much as my own since I had helped him do a lot of work on it. Firefighters had to make a hole in the hood because the latch melted and couldn't be open. My uncle immediately unplugged the battery though. Don't know why the firefighters didn't on yours.

Any idea what happened?

Bro I hate to see that, she was a beautiful ride. I've been on many car fires and to be honest 99% of the time they will always be a total loss. I personally as a practice try to make sure the battery cables get cut. The Camaro will be a total PITA because the batt this in the trunk. I can also guarantee most people don't realize where it is either.

Again sorry for your loss and hope to see you come back strong with her replacement.

Dude I am SO SORRY to see this!!! Those pics are absolutely sickening. I can't even imagine how I'd feel if that happened to my car. Do you know what caused it? And yeah, installing a fire extinguisher is a seriously good idea. Gonna now look at doing that for mine.

The only good thing is no one got hurt physically. Hopefully your insurance company will give you enough to replace it.
