Black 10 spokes found from Craiglist!!

Just wanted to pass on that I finally found a set of black 10 spoke rims with tires. Actually, they found me. I had posted an add on Craigslist back in September, shortly after I bought my Silver ZL1. Unfortunately, it came with the silver wheels when I bought it off the showroom floor, but I still wanted the black rims, hence the wanted add. I kept re-newing the add, and had received numerous calls about people wanting to buy my silver 5 spoke wheels and tires for cheap. Bullshit, I know!! Finally, just the other day, I received a call from a guy that worked at a Les Schwab store in Sacramento (Thanks Carlos!). He told me a guy had bought a new ZL1, drove it around for 500 miles, then wanted a custom set of wheels and tires. They ordered him a set of custom 22" front and 24" rear, and bought his factory black 10 spoke wheels/tires and applied the balance towards his new wheels/tires. Once he told me the price was $2100.00 for the set of wheels and tires, I asked if he would hold them until I could get there and pick them up. 2 days later they were on my car. Les Schwab removed the TPMS sensors for the other wheels, so I had my local buddy at Americas Tire (Thanks Justin!!) fix me up with 4 new TPMS's for $169.00, and he installed them. Not bad for a total investment of $2269.00!! I wish they were in perfect condition like my silver 5 spokes, as they do have a few light scratches here and there, but for the price, they look GREAT!! Craigslist RULES!!!

Anybody looking for a set of silver 5 spokes and tires with only 380 miles on them, they are for sale!!

My 5 spoke wheels and tires are still available. I am not really pushing to sell them, as they only have 380 miles on them, and still look brand new. I am just going to stash them in the attic and save them since they are they original wheels that came with the car. If I get a good offer, then I might think about selling them. But it better be good!!

They'll be going a lot cheaper now that the repros are finally in. Too many options now to get this look, or 95% of the look for a lot less dollars. Sets are now sitting unsold that initially were gone in hours not weeks. That ship has sailed. The best part is for those like me that used the Repros switching from 5 spokes, saved weight in addition to dollars.

Yea, but still for $2269.00, you cant buy reproduction wheels and tires for that price. Plus, I would much rather have the factory forged original wheels than cheap cast imitation wheels. I spent $60K+ on this car, it deserves better!

I can and did, but you're right most can't. I like my cheap cast wheels and believe they'll serve my purpose. I still have my 5 spokes with crappy GY F2's if I need them.

I don't need to sell my 5 spokes, as they are doing just fine sitting in the corner of the shop. They only have 380 miles on them, so they are like new. For as often as I drive the car, the tires will last me for years. Plus, once I get my Welds for drag racing, then the factory tires will last me even longer!!

Grats on the wheels. Can you send me the info to those shops? I'm in sac also and have been trying to find a wheel/tire shop that won't screw people over.

Its interesting to me that people will spend over $60K for a car, then want to be cheap with the modifications they do to the car. I know everybody loves a great deal, but sacrificing originality and function on a car that was built to be a "SUPER" car is disappointing. Your insulting the car by putting cheap wheels on it. Put cheap wheels on a Honda, not a ZL1.
I didn't want to spend $5K on wheels and tires, and I am sure nobody else wants to do it either. I even contemplated buying the cast, knock off wheels for my car, but I would rather have original forged wheels for my factory race car, so I held out, and got real lucky.
Just food for thought.....
