Thanks for the replies. I like coming back to a thread full of replies.

And as for that last picture, I thought 6th gear was pretty much to save gas while
5th was the fastest?

First off I have NEVER owned an automatic transmission vehicle.

Those that complain about the hill start assist just don't know how to use it. I hated it at first, kept stalling the car because i wasn't used to it. There's just something about it that screwed my brain up (probably my muscle memory) because there was no sense of urgency in releasing the clutch after letting off the brakes.

BUT once I figured out how use it I quit stalling the car and don't burn my clutch at all on hills.

Bottom line, get the Manual tranny. You'll never regret it.

All depends on gearing for differential and transmission. Typically fifth and sixth gears are OD's. Besides, the saying would not look right on fifth gear.

Get the stick man, the way i learned was a 10min ride with my friend in his civic. all i did was watch him, then when i saw the cobalt ss and the salesman wanted me to take it for a drive i told him that ive never driven stick before, he simply tossed me the keys and said "you have to learn somehow" lol long story short i drove it off the lot and i couldn't be any happier. i dont know about the others but i took me a good two months to not even think about how to drive (ss cobalt clutch was a little touchy)
with that being said i love manuals and i made sure i got the camaro in manual and its a blast! the only way i would buy a auto is if i had a family van or a physical condition that prevented me from driving a manual.

You'll hear many, MANY, excuses from auto owners as to why auto is better (they're so disillusioned that it's cute). And you'll hear from a few auto owners who wish they had a manual, but I've never once heard of a manual owner who wishes they had an auto...

From what I understand, dealerships don't let you sign the paperwork for an automatic Camaro unless you first admit to your parents that you're a homosexual. I'm truly glad that this admittance came so easily to you

No actual I went in, filled out some paper work and the dealer noticed I wrote down that I had an average sized penis and asked me why do I need to get a manual. Found out that I was fortunate and didn't need it and got the auto.
