I bought mine from work. Had to order it from Lokar. The part number is LOKAR GM 6L80E/6L90E TRANS DIPSTICK TD-36L80FM36.

Does the manual on the ss have a dipstick or is it "sealed" as well?

How stupid.

They say that the dipstick isn't needed because transmission fluid should stay at the same level unless there is a problem like a transmission leak. Which means that every so often you have to lay under your car or lift it up to check for transmission leaks. Oh if only someone made some kind of invention where you could check if the fluid is leaking out without having to do that.....oh you know.......something like a f@&king dipstick!

And let's say your transmission does develop a small leak and you are losing fluid, but you're on some big ass long trip in the middle of nowhere far from your garage to fix it. If only you had some easy way to add fluid without putting the car on a lift without using a long ass hose and a pump. So you could top it off so often and get home without blowing your transmission. Oh you know.....some type of invention to do this......like oh you know.....something like a f@&king dipstick!

I bet someone got a new bonus for getting rid of the cost of that part.

I had to do the same on my Dodge charger I used to have ( traded it in on camaro ) . I loosened the pan and caught all the fluid that came out .I then measured what came out and put the same amount back in with a new filter . This is assuming you have no leaks . Never had a problem and still doing great . You could add a little bit more for good measure if you like .

I was wondering if anyone has had the Lokar dipstick Installed on the L99 and if so, any Pics? I've tried a search in the DIY and haven't come up with anything! Thanks

I have a Lokar dipstick installed. I need to make some type of bracket. I will take a picture tomorrow or later tonight. I am getting ready to install a larger trans pan and a cooler.

Thanks Bill, looking forward to seeing some pics but no hurry! I really appreciate it and an excellent choice for a pan and cooler! I've been thinking of these also! Good luck on the install!

Wow, I am so glad I found this thread. I was standing in my garage with the hood open and felt like the biggest dipstick in the room when I couldn't find the tranny dipstick.
