New owner exhaust thoughts?
Hey guys/gals,
Recently purchased a 2012 V6 3.6L Camaro and first thing I'm interested in modifying is my exhaust. I've done a fair amount of research and have nearly finalized my decision on the Flowmaster Scavenger Elite Shortys and the Flowmaster AMT cat-back exhaust. Just curious on others opinion. I want to stick with manufacturer match on headers/exhaust. Feel free to comment/suggest. ![]() |

In my opinion you can't go wrong with FlowMaster.
On a side note I hate center mounted tailpipes It's one thing I hate about the new Vette

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I've dealt with Flowmaster all of my life and have NEVER been let down. I've seen plenty of videos of people with the AMT system and I like the sound. However, what I don't understand is the vast majority do axle-back and no headers. Which IMO is pointless and denying not only yourself but more importantly your cars breathing ability. If its to be done, it should be done all the way.

He is correct, you cannot do it becasue of the 1 piece exhaust manifold. Headers are not available for your engine (LFX).

The exhaust manifold is integrated into the heads on the LFX motor.

So the people at Flowmaster are incorrect in saying the scavenger elite can be installed on the 2012?

This is disturbing news. I think I just lost a little faith. -.-
Not to mention I found an ABSOLUTE STEAL due to a incorrect pricing online for 432.99 :( Last edited by Asphalt; 06-12-2013 at 07:57 AM. Reason: Add to post |

The LFX, short of a Supercharger or Turbo.....a Tune (Trifecta), Intake (CAI or Volant) and Exhaust is where its at...

Honestly OP I would not bother with that. A quick seach indicates these can be found in the mid to high $500 range. After PP fees, shipping and the hassle of selling you'll make $50-75 at best.
