Exhaust tips, bolt or weld?

So I am looking at adding quad exhaust, looking at bolt on tips just in case I change my mind in the future and want to change them. Anyone know if these are any good? I mean what makes an exhaust tip "good" other than looks.

I too am thinking about doing quad tips, though you need a new rear diffuser.

Had mine welded on, I bought the GM quad diffuser part number 22815277, and honestly it I one of the coolest mods for the price.

Yeah, I'm getting a 1LE diffuser, just not sure if I want to cut the tips myself and bolt on or pay a shop to weld them.

A little over $100.. But many people on here have just modified the stock diffuser if you don't want to buy another one.

I just had my quad tip exhaust done and it wasn't "just a bolt on".. I bought the MRTv2 axle back exhaust and basically had to re-fab the pipe coming out of the mufflers because it wasn't right for a custom setup. I had a muffler shop do it and it cost me $150 for the install but it was well worth it.

My suggestion for MRT is that they offer just the mufflers for custom jobs if they don't already....

They don't, but a sawzall takes care of that issue quick and easy, I installed my MRTv2 myself and it was not an issue being bolt on, which is why I am looking at saving money and getting bolt on tips as well, just really trying to determine why the price of tips vary so much...if they are made out of stainless steel there can not be a whole lots of difference, imo

You cannot bolt quad tips to the stock MRTv2 and have them just bolt right up if you use a 1LE/Npp diffuser. You're adding about 4" to either side of the centerline of the exhaust pipe. Believe me, been there, tried that....
