Any of you guys seen these rock guards?

I bought a pair from the dude on Ebay and just got them in. I have to admit, they are friggin' sweet and install was seriously a breeze.

You can 3M tape the tops or use the supplied clips to hold the tops in place. I opted for the clips and they hold well.

Anyway. They are working well and will hopefully keep debris of the quarters!

Here is the page where I bought them!

The only complaint I have heard so far is the inside edge that no one sees is not 100% laser cut straight. I guess that's what you get making every one by hand. Other than that everyone loves them.

Use 3M double sided tape to seal it against the body. I used both on my car and it took care of the debris getting stuck.

Got mine last Friday. Have not installed yet as I am filling any small rock chips in the paint for the mounting area. I rough fitted one of them to see how they would look and I like them. I am going to work on filling more of the small chips tonight and let that dry and then install the guards tomorrow night hopefully. I am excited to get them on to protect the paint. Will add more thoughts once installed.

I have no pics. Oneslow can send you some im sure. These look much better than the huge GM ones. For the ZL1 they look more like a stock rock guard that is on the front of the front tire wheel wells. That was an important factor when I thought about my purchase, I did not want ones that stick far out or looked non stock. These were the closest I could find for a good price.

Here are some pictures in the ebay posting that you can check out:

Mine took about 2 minutes to clean the inside edges. To save the money from the price of the other ones out there. I would easily spend that amount of time every day. Great bang for the buck. Mine have at least 400 miles and are holding up great with the 3m tape, which I was able to find at Wal-Mart. Never needed to use the clips.

Seems the tape doesn't stick well to the plastic. How do you guys get it to stick? Probably warm temp helps a lot?

I cleaned the surfaces (car and guards) with isopropyl alcohol then sprayed Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter on the surfaces before applying the tape. Didn't use the provided clips. They haven't came loose and looks like they never will.

This is the exact procedure to do. I put alcohol on both side before putting it on. Adhered it 1st to the body, left the backing on the tape till I got the angle I wanted then pulled it out. Im using clips and tape on mine.

Glad to hear yours are working out great Tmandoug1

Installed mine the other day and they look great! I used 3M tape rather than the clips. I also used adhesion promoter on the plastic to ensure the tape had a strong seal. They look great and do not look like they will come loose at all. Thank you for making these oneslow!

I made my own from flat truck/van rock guards I got at Advance Auto for $7.00. Trimmed them out similar to the ones in front of the front wheel and used existing screws. Added one near the top to hold it in place.

I purchased some of the guards from ********** also. I think they are a perfect compromise between protection and how far they stick out (I'm not going for the rally car look). Instructions were included but it's a pretty straight forward mod. I also used the 3M molding tape, cleaned surfaces with rubbing alcohol and everything sticks great. I ended up using the retainer clips anyways as insurance, but when I had just the 3M tape it held very firm. I feel much better now knowing that I am NOT sandblasting the sides of my car anymore.

This is definitely the way to go if you don't want to spend over $100 for a $7 part that has been cut up, but you also may be lazy (like me) and don't want to spend the time measuring, shaping, cutting, and drilling. I chose to go the ~$50 route, which is my limit between buying a finished product and doing it myself. I honestly do not know why anyone would spend over $100 with this option available to them.

I bought the 3M tape from Walmart in the automotive section. I checked with the local Target and Home Depot first, but they did not have it.
