Want to Paint Strut tower brace

I just finished adding some color to my engine cover and now the strut tower brace looks very bland now. Sorry I am not a gear head, so I have no idea what the proper names are.

I want to remove the brace and paint it. Glossy black on the mounting ends and Matte black for the actual bow brace part.

Here are my questions for you DYI guys:

1. It looks simple to remove, is there anything I need to know/Do BEFORE I remove it?

2. Once it is removed, painted and reinstalled, do I need to have an alignment done?

3. Can I still drive the car while the brace is off and the paint is drying? Say I need to run to the store to get something, or should I plan on having the wife's car while I wait for the paint to dry and remount the brace?

4. I am assuming you wash it, dry it 100% and then paint it with primer. then wait for that to dry. Mask off the parts and paint. I have never paint aluminum before, not sure if there is anything special for that?

5. Do I need to use anything special because of the heat from the motor bay?

6. Is there already a thread for this? If so, I did search here too many threads come up and most were pictures not DYI that I saw.

Here is my engine bay (BTW - Engine cover is 100% done, its just still drying at this point)

Here are my questions for you DYI guys:

1. It looks simple to remove, is there anything I need to know/Do BEFORE I remove it? Nope, just remove the 6 bolts holding it down.

2. Once it is removed, painted and reinstalled, do I need to have an alignment done? No

3. Can I still drive the car while the brace is off and the paint is drying? Yes. Say I need to run to the store to get something, or should I plan on having the wife's car while I wait for the paint to dry and remount the brace? No

4. I am assuming you wash it, dry it 100% and then paint it with primer. then wait for that to dry. Mask off the parts and paint. I have never paint aluminum before, not sure if there is anything special for that? Scuff or sand the middle of the brace, the ends are fine as they are.

5. Do I need to use anything special because of the heat from the motor bay? No, I painted my ends with Rustoleum metallic silver.

6. Is there already a thread for this? If so, I did search here too many threads come up and most were pictures not DYI that I saw.
