Any Upstate NY junkyard w/Gen5 ?

Does anyone know of a junkyard in the Rochester / Syracuse / Buffalo area that has 5th gen Camaro(s)? I need some stock parts that would be much easier to buy from a Yard, but haven't seen any locally. I know there must be some wrecks somewhere...

Thanks Steelhead83

1969to2010 - first I'm looking for the plastic cowl grill (driver side) and an extra seal, I'm working on a mod to make the stock cowl hood actually function (just to pass the air through the engine compartment and over the car). I need the extra parts so I can run it open most of the time but close it down for winter and possibly rain depending on how the water flows when I'm done with the "open" configuration. After that just miscellaneous small stuff like hood strut, washer fluid sprayer assembly, etc (for now, probably think of more later). I like having access to wrecks and cheap parts.

That's what I was thinking Spike! I'm used to working on old cars back when you could roam through muddy junkyards and pick up parts for a couple bucks. No one seems to have any 5th gens close by, but some of the parts are looking to be pretty cheap online anyway.

The Buffalo guy Steelhead told me about is a salvage yard, so I may be making the trip there this weekend - just waiting for them to respond with more details.

The contact Steelhead83 gave me turned out to be a salvage yard in Tonawanda. They have 5th gen parts and have already pulled what I need for me - picking them up tomorrow (we will be up there for something else anyway).

Thanks for the help everyone!

Got my parts - all good. It's a small place, but they say they get 5th gen Camaros / parts regularly. I saw at least 3 Camaro V-8 engines plus most of a 2ss interior. They said most cars come from Texas or North Carolina. I asked about NYC cars and he said the cars that were flooded with saltwater aren't good at all - none of the electronics work, anything metal starts rusting right away, and everything else gets moldy.

PM me if you want more info on the place.

Sure - I was going to take more pictures and provide more details in a new thread at some point, but never got around to it. Here's the shots I have, the last one is with my iphone jammed in under the front edge of the hood with it almost closed so you can see the opening size. I wasn't trying to make it look pretty, just testing the idea, so it could look a lot nicer if you wanted.

No water gets into the engine area, and for this I just used metal window screen I had to cover the opening - you should be able to find something much nicer than that! This doesn't do anything for my intake air temp as I have a CAI CAI, but it certainly allows more heat out of the engine compartment and more airflow, so at least it does something besides being decorative.
