Interesting. Although, I'll probably never use this functionality, or remember it even has it.
Glad you found it.

So let's review for those that may look in future. The door locks on the door and the center console are not redundant. The locks on the door lock/unlock immediately.

The locks on center console can be programmed via "Vehicle Personalization Menu" to be delayed giving you hands free exit of the car.

I use that all the time when I have a passenger. It gives them a few seconds to open the door.

It's especially nice in my G6 when you want to open the back door after you get out.

Don't the electric lock buttons on the doors do that? I don't know, I have an '11.

I know pressing the mechanical button on my Camaro locks both doors immediately. I use that when I'm alone.

Sales guy told me people were getting claustrophobic and freaking out trying to get out of their Camaro so they added the (un)lock buttons on the door as well for 2012

Plus Automatics unlock when put in park. I guess when you're freaking out you don't think logically.

Need to pull the key out of an LS3. Sometimes I like to leave it on accessory for a few minutes like charging the phone. If a passenger I hit the unlock.

True, but they could have easily programmed that functionality into the door switches. Still seems like unnecessary switches.

Yes, but then you would always have to wait for the delay before it locks. Maybe you want to lock the doors immediately (some rough character walks up to car), so they give you that option. I can somewhat see their logic, but I could live without the delayed lock. Nice to have though.

Mine delays from both locations when "delay locks" is turned on.

Can you swap the electronic from a 10 in the 12s? Would rather just have it on the dash.

Mine unlock when I turn ignition off, whether I pull the key or not.
In MyLink preferences you can set whether to unlock both doors or just drivers door

Bingo, it's cheaper to give away a redundant switch that to tool up a new stereo.

Back when Camaro was in development a lot of GM vehicles had door locks in the center stack or console. Especially if there was some interest in building RHD models for export.
