I think its work a shot.....

Smooth out that piston a little bit. It wasn't on the edge so it should be fine.

Clean all the metal out of the cylinder....WD40 and airgun..mask off the other open surfaces first so the shavings don't go there.

Smooth out the head a little bit (like porting).....have a shop check that valve guide...looks like it was leaking oil.....have to fix that....easy peasy.

Keep close eye on loose bolts.

Slap it back on and fire it up!

Check the compression initially then periodically and keep an eye on that cylinder.

I've seen worse run fine.....but you have to check that valve....mandatory....could be bent and valve guide may be bad.

I think trans ams are bad luck....
A camaro would have just eaten up the bolt and spit it out the back.

Got it fired up yesterday and limped it to our local tune shop. Luckily its only 3 miles from my house because it wouldn't idle at all and I don't have a license plate. Here is the video! In the video it has a misfire because of a bad coil pack.

Sounds very healthy.....bad coil pack and all.

What kinda cam is in there?

Make another vid after its tuned.....

...and do you really need a plate in TN?
