I have a hard time imagining 2 in there when it's so stuffed with one.

I have been only removing the wheels, but I noticed how the pedals dig into the flooring and I have a Weathertek cargo liner I would like to keep from getting deep indentations. So, though I might need special wrenches it might be worth removing the pedals or at least the one which will be on the bottom. If anybody is going to try this I recommend using a big beach towel over the bike and than carefully placing the wheels so that the spokes are not damaged or bounce around, scratching the bike up.

I should (and probably will) take a snap shot of what mine looks like with it in the trunk....will do so soon.

As promised, pics of my bike in trunk:

This is not carbon fiber and or the new frame geometry but I test rode a few like those and wasn't very impressed.

I got this one from local bike store owner.
The frame size and classic geometry are about the same as every road bike I had before.

Besides this color scheme will look great if I do end up putting it on a rack
