ZL1 vs Jaguar F-Type V8 SC

What's everyone's opinion on the new Jag vs the ZL1 both in the twisties and a straight line.

I like the body style. Not really into verts, like I've seen on the commercial. I think it said ~500HP, so should be a good matchup.

I think the ZL1 takes it in every category.

Excepts looks, sound, desirability and the ability to pull the opposite sex. But yeah, otherwise.

Saw the new F type S at Cars and Coffee last weekend. Just a beautiful car, interior and exterior. Very well done and lots to look at. But yes, slower in every regard and stupid expensive. I'd rather have the new Vette myself.

Here's a couple of pix from cars and coffee. If I were to get one, this would be the color combo:

The first Jag in a very long time that I would even consider owning. It looks like a cross between my car and an Aston. Beautiful.

Looks are subjective, so is sound. I love the way the ZL1 sounds bone stock, and I don't like the whole front end of the F-Type. I also don't desire the car, I would rather have a Boxter S or a 911 C2 Vert, especially for that money. As for pulling the opposite sex, don't need a car to do that, and never have. I got my well toned, muscular body, and handsome face to get shallow whores with

My mom has that same motor in her '10 XF sedan and that's a damn nice car to drive. I cant imagine that thing in a smaller coupe or vert form. Even thought I'm a Camaro guy all the way through....the Jags are really nice...way outta my budget though.

I <3 TT-RS. For all out performance, I'd stick with the TT. It's amazing to even have the option you have...lol first world problem

The XKR-S Supercharged Jag will out accelerate the Lamborghini Gallardo or a Ferrari 458 from 0 to 90 according to the guys we talked to at World Class Driving. I drove all 3 and the Jag is surprisingly quick and a very nice drive. Over 500 FT-LBS at 2500 RPM and 542 HP at 6000 RPM. It isn't hard to believe after being behind the wheel. 12.3 in the quarter is no slouch especially one that gives you that much luxury. A ZL1 is a very nice ride too but there is just something about a comfy quiet luxury car that effortlessly hauls-azz that I find very attractive.

-Mark.

We are not talking about the XKR-S, and that being said, what those people feel at WCD, and what actually happens in the real world are two vastly different things.

458

0 - 60 mph 3.0 s
0 - 100 mph 6.2 s
1/4 mile 10.8 s @ 134 mph

Gallardo 560-4

0 - 60 mph 3.7 s
0 - 100 mph 6.9 s
1/4 mile 11.2 s @ 127 mph

XKR-S

0 - 60 mph 4.2 s
0 - 100 mph 8.4 s
1/4 mile 12.5 s @ 118 mph

Even on paper, a car that weights 4100 pounds with 543hp is not going to come close to cars that weight 800 pounds less, make more power, and have bigger tires.

TAKE YOUR LOGIC ESLEWHERE

I think they're damn sexy cars. I prefer my car, but know, and am not afraid to admit that a Jaguar *no matter your opinion of it* is a 'different' type of car than a Mustang or Camaro.
