Thanks, PM sent. The gills, aka side vents are brushed aluminum & came from camarodecalstore.com, I tried hard metal stickons & vinyl & took them off, then found these, I have had these on for about a year, through many washes & am happy with the look & durability.

Based on the original post that started this forum, I would love a car cover that matched my car. I have to say that I just noticed in these pics how naked the coupe trunk looks because the convertibles have the antenna on the trunk. I have the 2SS convertible and have been scared to make mods so not to lose its value. However, I had planned on modifying my bowties. I bought the vinyl and the knifeless tape. Um...that knifeless tape isn't as easy to use as they show in the video. I'm quite a crafty and handy girl (I have lots of power tools) but I couldn't quite get the hang of the knifeless tape. Not giving up though!!

Here is my 45th 2ss M6. Been looking around the site for awhile but decided to finally post my car. So far I added a slp splitter, slp loudmouth exhaust, anvil rear spoiler, removed rear bowtie and side emblems, and tinted windows.

I feel the same way, so what I am doing is only mods that are reversible, no cutting of wires, no splicing, etc.

Nice bowtie. I went just CFM with a chrome outline from River City Creations. Also, for anyone else that still has vinyl stripes, I use Adam's Super VRT Tire and Trim dressing, works great.

+1

I also use Brilliant Glaze before Super VRT....helps knock down any uneven splotchy type areas.

Wires can be soldered back together, and splices can be undone. My car can be turned to stock easily, just takes time an effort.

Not to mention I couldn't leave anything stock for more than a week

Yep! But definately NOT with a Porter Cable. I use a hex pad.

Look here for details:

I've also used the fine machine polish (again by hand) to remove scratches.

Excellent info, thanks for posting! Now I can clean up my gray stripe as it's gotten a little blotchy.

Anyone had a bodyshop repaint a panel yet? I was hit rear bumper and the bodyshop cannot match it with the quarter panel. They've tried twice now. I am thinking about getting a second opinion from another shop at this point.

I have not. Matching metalics is very difficult. I am surprised they have not tried to do a blend onto the panel. You are lucky they did not based on the piss poor job they did on the bumper. No depth at all.

I had my front bumper redone, it's close by no exact match. You really have to look at it to see it tho.
