i feel for you with the loss of your good buddy. I too have been down that road before with one of my dogs. I got my first boxer when i was very young, just a little over four years old. I immediately grew attached to him and made him a big part of my childhood. unfortunately, when he was young he broke his front leg in two places and required serious surgery. For the rest of his life he walked around with numerous screws and plates in his leg but still was able to function very well. Buddy lived to be almost ten, in the few years he suffered from liver issues which ulitmately was the end for him. I know that when i lost him i was changed forever. these dogs are such a blessing but they really do break your heart.

Deke,
As good looking as that ZL1 is, Daisy is just as cool. What a wonderful part of your life. She looked like she so enjoyed life with you and your family...

I would say she lives on. Wow, what a thought.....Daisy the ZL1!!...

Complete control of the entire halo system, including custom programs for all the lights on the front of the car- even the DRL's, the fog lights, and the RGB grill lights. Once it's complete, I will be able to have total control of up to 32 individual channels of lights (not that I plan to use all of them) and the nice thing is that the system is wifi based, so it's all done though the iPhone.

Hi Matt! Checking out your journal, again, and I still say this the best looking ZL1 I've seen to date! That must of seriously caused unneeded stress, the guy backing into you, glad the shop did a top notch job. I would've reached into my trunk for some accident stress relief, on the guys head, that is. The lighting package you put together is unbelievable. I gotta hit the Lotto cause now that's next on my wish list, the video in #132 is wicked. Plain and simple, it looks EVIL! Your ZL1 should be in a Movie! With Satan behind the wheel, that's how Bad Ass that BEAST looks. I Love It. Great Job!

I did order the Noweeds yesterday, I'll let you know how the install comes out/sounds soon. If I do those lights like yours, can't wait for some jerk to stomp on it to race me, and then I'll hit the Red & Blue lights and make the the guy crap his pants. Of course as he is hitting the brakes and pulling over, I'll stomp on it and disappear!

I am sure that's me then. I live in Glen Carbon, so I am in Edwardsville pretty regularly.

Since you're local, you should consider joining our Camaro club. Here's a link to our Facebook page:

Hi Matt, Our condolences. I know it takes a long time to get over the loss of a beloved pet. Our pets, I don't even like calling them pets, our "children" is more appropriate because they are our family, they mean the world to us. We had to do something similar not long ago and my heart still aches. I just think about all the joy and happiness they bring each and every day! We have two Australian Cattle Dogs, Banjo, my Boy, and Dingo my husbands fat little girl.

Well, it has been a fun few days with the car! I spent a few days last week (taking my time) installing the NightOwl halo kit. I spent yesterday (Saturday) washing and waxing getting ready for the Super Chevy Show in St. Louis. About halfway through my detail, the skies opened up, but luckily I had decided to wash and wax inside my garage yesterday to avoid the sun and potential water spotting.

This morning still looked a little dreary and rainy outside, but by 9am it had started drying out and I headed down to Gateway Motorsports Park for the final day of the fun and the class judged show. It turned out to be a really nice day (a little hot) for the show. There was a decent turnout of some really nice Chevy's. We had 4 members of our club show up, and all four of us won awards!

I don't do a lot of shows, but I was really excited to have won my first time today! I was my class award winner, which resulted in a nice plaque and a jacket! Here are some pics:

And a little Instagram my wife did:

Finally, a shout out for Southern Illinois Camaro Club. We had 4 members attend the show today and we all won awards!

All in all, a pretty productive week on the Camaro front. I also ordered a few new mods, which should be here soon. Which reminds me that I have a few parts to sell too! I guess I should get on that!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

I realized that I never shared my permanent and flexible solution to my battery drain that I believe is caused by my Technostalgia taillights. If you have these lights and want show mode to work, follow these simple instructions:

I recently made some modifications to the wiring that allows me to switch back and forth between a switched source and a constant source. Here is the summary of what I did:

Since I occasionally go to shows, I wanted the ability to leave the "show mode" running without a having the key turned or the parking lights on and for normal use flip back over to the switched source so there is no constant drain on the battery. You will want a SPDT (single pole double throw) switch with an ON-ON configuration for the power, and a SPST (single pole single throw) for the ON-OFF of the show mode. No stores around me carried the SPDT switches so I ordered them online for about $2 each. To wire the SPDT, I simply ran the wire from the switched source (in my case the amplifier remote turn-on) to one pole and the wire from the constant source (the battery in this case) to the other pole. The single pole out went back to the taillights. Now I have the ability to switch to a constant power source (battery) when I am at shows and I don't have to leave the lights on or the key in the ignition. When I am driving the car normally, I keep the switch on the switched source so I do not get any battery draw from the taillights when the car is sitting in the garage.

Overall, this solution works exactly like I had hoped, and gives me the best of both worlds. If you aren't worried about the "show mode" feature then this probably doesn't mean much to you, but if you do it's a great wiring option.

Thought I would update my thread with my latest project. This week I added some bumps in the trunk!

I chose a JL Audio 12w3v3-2 12" sub mounted in a Subthump stealth box. I also added a JL grill for a little extra protection for the sub. As you probably read in an earlier post, I already had a JL Audio XD700/5 amp. This install was really easy since I had a 5th channel ready and waiting! I ran the HD-RLC remote volume control knob up to the driver's side console. I even painted the nut holding on the volume knob black since the silver was visible from the driver's seat. I am really impressed with the sound of this sub. The install also looks really clean in the trunk. Here are a few pics:

Before you ask, the switch next to the knob is for my footwell lighting.

I appreciate it Normagene! I definitely try to make sure all my installs are nice and clean. I really like the shifter too. It's a pistol grip and has a line lock switch built in. I bought it from forum vendor CFD.

Where did you get your shifter from? Is that from CFD here on the site? Been thinking of getting one

Yes, it's from CFD. I had him change up his typical design to incorporate a momentary switch for my line lock instead of the tap shift. He was great to work with and the turnaround was very quick. His customer service is top notch too. You won't be disappointed.
