Agreed.

But until they fix it.....

When a USB drive is plugged in it has to be initialized by the OS, in this case the myLink, and read. While on a computer this is normal and expected, the myLink system seems to have been set with a timeout that is under the threshold for a thumb drive. So when you initially start the car up with the drive in, the system takes more time to initialize and index it than the programmers thought it would need.

Simple fix GM: Software update that increases the timeout before switching sources due to "No USB Drive Found."
I'm sure you're right, but it's not just USB. If I shut the car down with XM playing, or AM, or Pandora, MyLink will start up with FM next time I start the car.

lotsa off the subject responses here...but I'm glad you get it...until they straighten it out, I'll just turn off before I shut down....glad to see that remote start does not effect the reconnect either...

Here's what that SansDisk Cruzer Fit flash drive looks like in the console. I tied the little string on it so it would be harder to lose when I'm moving it around (yeah, it's that small). I put the cover on it(it's laying in the bottom of the console in the pix), and use the string to loop it on my keychain. The drive comes in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB, but it's the same physical size regardless of the capacity.

Just bought one and while it does remember the usb it still has issues with switching back to the menu screen after shutting down or even putting the beast in reverse. Scratching my head.

Mine also switches to FM but not all of the time. Have not discovered under which conditions or if it's just random. I only have one FM station stored in my "favorites" and this is the station it reverts to. Do all of you with this issue have an FM station preset? I am wondering what occurs if I would remove it.

I've not had mine "switch to FM". I typically change from USB to XM or FM before I shut it off to avoid the USB issues noted, but I've not had it change to something that I didn't already have selected.

Well mine Defaults to XM for some odd reason, USB or IPOD plugged in if I turn off the car while either are playing upon start up it defaults to XM
