Magnacharger question

Hey again,

Sorry for all of the questions guys, but I'm new to the blower game (as if you can't tell). My L99 currently has LT headers, high-flow cats, Borla S-type axle back, SCT tune from JRE and a K&N "Typhoon" CAI. I'm realizing now that the K&N might not have been the "best" choice, but here's the question. Rather than going back to my stock air box, like Magnuson recommends with the stock 3.8 pulley. Why couldn't I retrofit my current CAI set up to work? I can't imagine that it would be very difficult and it seems like it has to produce more air flow than the stock box. In fairness, the Maggie kit does come with a SLP "Blackwing" connecting tube.

Thoughts. What am I missing?

Not sure about the K&N, but I know you can make a CAI Inc work with the Maggie; it just needs a new tube. The shop I used recommended going with a RotoFab intake, but thought the CAI Inc was fine, too. I would not want to go back to a stock box. I believe that Jannetty tested the SLP tube only, and there were zero gains.

Yeah, I believe the "zero gains". I was just thinking that I could at least reuse my K&N CAI, but I guess not? Thanks

I know it is more money upfront but do it right the first time. I have a RotoFab myself. The CAI Inc are just as good. Go with one of them. You will not be sorry.

Good luck. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. It boils down to which one looks better to you. Also, the RotoFab's box is open on top and seals to the underside of the hood. The CAI Inc's box has a lid.
