I forgot about this thread and it's been a couple years since I posted. If anyone really cares, I ended up being talked into a 4.57 gear versus the 4.30....love em!

Can somebody post a ballpark estimate on the cost of a set of gears? I have an A6 so I'd probably go with the 3.70 gears.

JRE Makes this real easy by providing fully built center diffs, just swap and add oil they are 100% new with Eaton Differential GM or LPE Gears, JRE Billet Main caps, all new bearings and seals Precision built by Top Cat Tony in our shop.

My gxp came factory with 3.70s and I could stand for more.

A lot would depend on the gearing in the tranny as well. The 1LE comes with 3.91's but the tranny gears are different and from what I hear, the final gearing is about the same as a SS.

I'm on my phone right now and in Amarillo eating at the big Texan so I can't really respond other than I'm doing 2000rpm at 75mph in 6th.
