We are going to hand fabricate an intake manifold, with a properly sized plenum.... stay with the stock throttle body and see what we see..... part of the test car stuff.... we have approached this a step at a time rather than whole sale changes.... It's allowed us to really know what works and what doesn't....
That's actually a really good idea. My fabricator would love to do that. I completely over looked that aspect of the setup. When do you plan on having the custom manifold on?

And I was running 9.5-10psi when she went. But I have been running that boost for awhile now.

We are still waiting on the turbos.... We have the exhaust manifold flanges, and will be starting on the primaries pretty soon. Cant finish them without the turbos....

As for the intake, it'll probably be a couple of months.... We are still in the design discussion phase of that little venture....

We'll start with the intake flanges and build the runners.... then determine the final plenum size and shape based on available space....

Through everything, we are going to keep the external dimensions and body work of the car stock other than the blade spoiler I had to have... We swap back to the factory lip spoiler for high speed runs.... No one could/would tell us if the blade would stand up to 200+ mph runs, and Lord only knows what would happen if it broke of at speed.... the sudden loss of 1200-1500 lbs of down force or more all at once would be bad form....

Very cool. I gotta keep track of that. By designing your own you can probably eliminate the lean condition cylinder 7 sees then too. Ill have to talk to my frabricator. Good info yet again.

And there is an entirely different aspect you need to look at when it comes to the mile runs. Nothing i have actually needed to address are this point. But its good to plan for it now while she's all apart.

The TexasMile is run at the old Chase Naval Air Station, Beeville Texas.

Google or YouTube the Texas Mile and there is a lot of info and tons of videos, some are brutal... You'll see everything from a dude in a mini van having fun to full on race cars with over 2 k hp..

I was running ZL1 Pump, ADM FPCM, FAST 65lb injectors, and an AEM Meth injection kit with a 550cc nozzle I believe. <- purely for cooling..... boost was between 9.5-10ps Max.

Just a little warm I'd say. That's from over 80 trips down the track. Lol only like 8,000 miles I think too.

One step closer.

Probably not. Being rear mounted twin setup, I need to minimize lag as much as possible. So an intercooler increases the amount of piping that needs to be charged.

But I am thinking of a way to help cool the air better that wont increase lag.

Not too hard at all. The trickiest part was disconnecting all the plugs and wireS. But after that it was smooth sailing. Just gotta make sure to take the radiator out to give a little extra room.

yea I've had the radiator out before when I did my V3 install. I'll be attempting the engine swap myself when I get home from this deployment. After reading through your thread I'm amazed my engine held up at 12 psi. No worries now since it will be getting a fully built long block.

Haha there have been plenty of others that have pushed more than 12 psi into the motor. But at that point you are just on the edge.

when you are ready to go just let me know I can go into extreme detail on what to watch for.
